    Deal on account but I've a Hue setup and don't need this. Give me a Hue bulb for £4.99 please For anyone thinking of starting a set up which this deal is trying to do I'd recommend Hue as standard (edited)

    always wondered about smart bulbs as you are forced to choose between using the wall switch or voice command. don't people get annoyed with this when you try to use voice when you realise the wall switch is off? (edited)

    I use some smart bulbs in plug in lights, one is a floorstander behind sofa, switch is a pain to get to, could also use a switched socket, but I chose a bulb for that. Same in bedroom, two lights on bedside table, each have a smart bulb. Again I could have used a socket but I get more control with bulbs, they can dim. Alexa will give me whatever %age light I want. Very useful. Dimmer n switch in one unit.
    I personally wouldn't put a smart bulb in a ceiling light, I think there are better options with smart controllers for those.
    I have 2 2 gang switches as I mentioned above. 4 switches controlling ten lights in one large room. They do drop connection like crazy tho. :-/ :-/

    just done (0950) code worked perfectly - happy smart plug yesterday £5 and smart bulb today £4.99 cant go wrong under £10 for both

    I would agree. Bought one tail end of 2020 for the hallway and it's not terribly brightness now. Shame as the other smart bulbs in the hall are still looking good.

    I’ve had mine for 2 years, never had a problem. Perfect for when I’m away from home. Work great with Alexa app on my phone too.

    I’ve got one of these and they work really well. Persistent WiFi connection unlike my kasa bulbs. Unfortunately the voucher code doesn’t work for me and not worth £12.

    Same experience here, the Lifx bulb I have in living room has a faultless connection. Unlike the (Yagusmart?) Light switches, I have 2 of their 2 gang WiFi wall switches. They drop / forget their connection so often I don't even bother to reconnect them any more.

    The wall switches become redundant and replaced by wireless switches and sensors. I don't use voice or switches when I walk into my kitchen or bathroom. TBH even though I've Alexa I never use my voice for lights. There is a whole host of equipment with Hue and a whole load of automated routines through the app. Not sure about these though (edited)

    Use Home Assistant and you won't be locked into any smart bulb brand

    On a related point. I cannot recommend highly enough power sockets that use the 'Smart Life' app. It's generic and not tied to any particular brand, but it has a power monitor feature, it's awesome! It drill down into some terrific detail. I can tell when my washer was turned on, how much power it used on any given day, month all-sorts. It has easy to read kWh numbers, given what's going on in the energy market you can literally work out to the penny how much an appliance costs to run.

    I love all the detail, try it if you're super nerdy about the numbers like me!
