More than a simple launcher, Lightning is a fast, light and extremely customizable tool to build the perfect home screen. To build your home screen.
No other launcher can compete with Lightning when it comes to customizability. Have a look at the full list of features and you will be convinced ;-)

And if an extreme customizability were not enough, Lightning is also very light on memory and a blazing fast launcher. It works like a charm on all phones and tablets, from Android 2.2 up to newest Android versions.

Under the hood, Lightning is propelled by a powerful and unique engine allowing you to arrange your apps and widgets using the best possible flexibility and style.

• It doesn't matter whether you want your icons to be nicely aligned on a grid, or pixel perfect positioned, or even scaled/ rotated/skewed in all directions: Lightning does it all with ease.
• It doesn't matter whether you need a single page, five, or half a million with different setups for work, private use and children: Lightning offers an unrivaled way to manage your precious screen estate.
• It doesn't matter whether your device is one of these beloved pioneer Android phones or if you run the latest and greatest flagship: Lightning doesn't waste CPU nor memory; the app strives to remain light and fast for everyone.

With its wide range of features, Lightning perfectly copes with all kind of home screens: classic, minimalist, gesture based, with side bars or moveable panels,... Lightning doesn't limit you to a particular scheme: it aims to free your creativity instead. Essentially, this home screen can do everything you can imagine.

Key Features (not an exhaustive list):

• Highly customizable desktop: change font, size, color, wallpaper, grid lines, folder options, status/navigation bar colors, layouts, scrolling & zooming options, events, actions, gestures, pretty much everything.

• Unique limitless desktop: a desktop is a surface growing as needed, in all directions. Move an icon to the right or left and a new page will be automatically created. And it works for pages above and below too! This means as much space as needed for your apps, and also a much more efficient navigation.

• As many desktops as needed: one for private, work, party, kids, etc. Add, remove and re-arrange desktops at will, each desktop being an independent and unlimited setup.

• Combined grid and free positioning: use the grid to easily align apps, use free positioning to adjust the size, position and rotation of any item (including widgets).

• Pinned items: prevent any item from moving when scrolling your pages. This is handy to create docked elements anywhere on the screen, and more.

• Scripting support: use JavaScript to unleash the full Lightning power. Load user contributed scripts to extend your setup, or create your own. With Lightning Launcher scripts, only sky is the limit!

• And lots more: enhanced app drawer, panels, Tasker integration, lock screen, floating desktop,... Please visit the developer homepage for detailed feature list, manual and how to’s.

Things to be aware of (please read this notice):

• With its wide set of options and switches, Lightning has a learning curve. But isn't that a small price to pay to get the most exciting and unique home screen ;-) Join the user community to get tips and tricks!

• Problem setting Lightning the default launcher on Jelly Bean? Please install this free app : play.google.com/sto…der

Lightning is in constant evolution thanks to a continuous and incredible user feedback (first release in August 2011). All comments, suggestions and bug reports are welcome. Any better than nova?
From what I can tell it's a highly customizable launcher, even more so than nova. If you can be bothered to spend hours on it it's probably pretty good but I haven't the patience personally.

I have been with nova for ages. Best launcher so far. It provides me enough customise

Lightning from people review and released history. Fast, enough customise but full of bugs.
I choose nova any days over this. I use tasker and zooper widget. Thats enough customise.

it's take time to customise. Hope you enjoy it. Not a bad launcher. Personally I hate badge notification on ios. Even those I have ios as well. Badge notification is annoying and I rarely check icon on drawer. My home screen is only widget. Don't have any icon. Even my dock is minimal to letter no icon.

Ok im gunna break down what you said to makes it easier to reply

#1. I have check the review. Release date. 4 years only 10000+ download. Compare nova 10mil+.

Thats because theres to many people who are scared to see what there device is capable of i see it all day every day on Google+ someone changes a wallpaper uses an icon pack and a widget or 2 and shows it off like its the best thing since sliced bread when really its just basic customization that can probably be achieved in a stock launcher. Android is capable of a lot more than that anyways i dont see how the download count matters i mean Clash of clans is currently the #1 grossing app and IMO its a load of crap il take San Andreas or Minecraft over it anyday, its only #1 because its heavily marketed so is game of war candy crush etc. Lightnings what you call a hidden gem

#2. I have check released history. Full of bugs and nearly endless of update. Where I have used nova on many different a Handset. Never get any problem, freeze lag or whatever.

You checked its history yet you have no hands on experience with it were as i do, yes it has bugs of course it does (see my reply to #3) yes its also updated all the time but since when is that a bad thing are you saying he should just leave it maybe update it every few months untill it starts to die? If you checkout Lightnings Google+ community you will see why this app has so many updates. Features are suggested and 9 times outta 10 they get implemented. I also used Nova(Prime) so i have plenty of experience with it i also used Apex(Pro),Launcher Pro,Next Launcher 3D(Very Overrated),Holo Launcher, Smart Launcher, list goes on.

#3. Lightning from people review and released history. Fast, enough customise but full of bugs.

Of course It has bugs because it has loads more features and is nothing like Nova/Apex or any other simple launcher anyone who writes code will know what im talking about.

#4. I choose nova any days over this. I use tasker and zooper widget. Thats enough customise

Thats cool man i also use Tasker and Zooper but obviously with Lightning, but Lightning has a feature called custom view which allows me to use the android framework to build any kind of widget i want .So Zooper doesnt get used as much. Its also cool you Choose Nova over Lightning i respect your decision but dont knock something you aint even tried this is a deal site remember and there may be people looking for a new launcher.

Btw When i said Novas a toy i didnt mean that in a bad just trying to give that guy an idea of how it compares to Nova without writing an essay like this one im writing now. Like i said Novas great no doubt about it but Lightnings Greater because it can do everything Nova can and more including widgets in folders, detaching stuff from the desktop grid, padding, margings, borders, layers, floating desktop, full Tasker integration, a lockscreen, custom views, scripting for those wanting to customize a bit further than what i mentioned earlier^ This launchers perfect and have you saw the size of it? for some people that matters.

I signed up to HUKD just to comment on this deal because its a great deal and seriously underrated.

Long press the desktop press the + press badge, badge appears on desktop long press it to go into edit mode press the pen icon, press the paintbrush icon or press properties customize it there. if you dont understand any of the options long press it and you will see some help text. hope this helps.

FYI long press any icon on the toolbars (bottom and right of the screen) to see what pressing that icon does.
What kind of launcher doesn't offer a free version? Would really prefer to test it for a while and see how it is to live with before committing to a purchase.

Good question there was a free version for quite a while it was called Lightning Launcher the app in this thread was originally called Lightning Launcher Extreme, The word Extreme got dropped from the name when he pulled the free version. I agree though he should still offer a free/trial version but he had his reasons which can be found on the Facebook page I dont use it or id link you to it.
Interesting. Definitely wish there were a free version though.
Personally couldn't really get on with Nova or Apex but, bought Smart Launcher back when it was 10p and love it. Intrigued by this though. Not sure I have the patience to set it up though but, think I'll give it a go anyway.
At £1.25 it's excellent value for a launcher... Very customisable although I'm still finding my way round it
right gang. will my android life be improved by sticking this on my phone. always been happy to use what comes straight out of the box.

as I told you personally I choose nova over any launcher. Second I like customise, but lightning put me off, when I see release history. Any apps update per week or every 2 weeks, I said goodbye to it. My personal choice again, if they release every 1 or 2 months, I could consider to play around

Gone for this, thanks Op
Looks like a nice launcher. I use 360 Launcher myself, one of the very few free launchers that let you set up folders in the app drawer so that you can group things together and not have to scroll from A to Z to find an app.

I also got Smart Launcher when i saw it on here if you decide to give Lightning a go and have any questions feel free to ask me or checkout its google+ community the developer himself is always around and theres a lot of friendly people wanting to help (including myself).

I've been using this for a couple of years now, wouldn't go back to any of the many launchers I've bought oO I am a bit of a geek and can quite happily spend 2 hours a day messing with it on my commute, yeah It can be quite overwhelming initially and yeah it does have bugs and lots of updates but that goes hand in hand with the features it provides, great support from the dev and community, absolute bargain at this price. heat added

Yup but If your happy with the stock launcher this might not be right for you because stock launchers are very basic and there designed to be that way were as lightning was designed to be customizable, but it is on sale and you have a 2hr refund window so id say its worth a shot if your curious.
Watching the long introduction video I'd say the main difference between Nova and Lightning, is that Nova is just a customizable launcher, letting you customise the typical Android Launcher style and choose number of homescreens, icon layout, style of app drawer, some actions and number of icons in dock etc. Which is nice and simple and pretty much gives most users what they want to accomplish with minimal effort and backup/restore functionality.

Lightning is more of a tool that allows you to build your own launcher, in any style, from tiles, to sliding menus, to something that hasn't been thought yet. It's got a steep learning curve, though has been built to do many difficult things in a very simple way, and depending on your level of customisation can take massively a long time.

Deal is 50% off, if anyone else is curious how this compares to regular price.
