super cheap on this model, was looking at these a little while ago but didn't go for it in the end, 76p though... Worth a punt. Reviews are looking alright as well, which i'm assuming were based on around triple this price (Going by other prices at the mo, poss higher though)

Paid £2 a few weeks ago. Arrived today. Will order another at this price !

Just paid £7 for the same on Amazon as I needed straight away. Very happy with it so at this price..... Brill'

Ordered. Thanks :-)

This may be a stupid question but what can it charge? lithium ion, more expensive types or just rechargable batteries?

brought one anyway.

Not bad at all - review HERE.

Just please, never leave lithium ions charging when you aren't in, and never at night, especially in a mega cheap charger like this. In fact it's worthwhile reading up on lithium cells before you ever use them.

Yes lion, 18650 being the most common you are likely to encounter.

I've already got this last year for around £2 which was a good deal. Will order another so I can recharge in pairs.

Where to?

Where did you brought it to, beefcake?

Wondered how it fitted different sizes till pic showed negative connection is on a sprung slide.
Would not use the 1000nAh setting, unless you like cooking your batteries.

76p battery charger. What could possibly go wrong?

want to charge lithium cells in that? do yourself a favour & pick up a fire extinguisher too.

How much to charge just one battery?? Reminded me of this

Just one rib

You 'brought' one with you all the way from China?

Well I bought one on impulse. Probably going to burn the house down but we'll see, taking people's word for it that they work fine.

Anyone have any suggestions where to pick up decent quality batteries that don't cost the earth, particularly 14500's?

What's the equivalent for replacing AA/AAA size NiMh batteries? Any suggestion on where to buy good quality 18650 batteries?

It appears 14500 batteries replace AA cells - not sure they do an AAA replacement.
18650 batteries are a minefield. The Chinese love to fake as we all know, and that doesn't stop with batteries sadly.
Some could literally kill/harm/burn you. If this is your first lithium ion cell/s definitely get protected ones!
For researched and valid info on chargers/batteries I would (as I did) start looking up HERE

I've got 3 or 4 of these. To date, nothing.
This site reviewed the bigger brother charger (same functions, just 2 cell.) The man who runs the site is a battery guru - if he says the charger is good, I don't think you'll find anyone better qualified to contradict him.

10440 is AAA equivalent. Although you'll almost never need to use them; I've got one penlight that'll run them (a BLF-348) and whilst it's much brighter than running it on an AAA it also becomes unbearably hot. LiFePO4 10440's provide a decent middle ground...which is why I bought this charger (my bigger, grander Xtar charger won't do LiFePO4 charging at 3.2V.)

Banggood, Gearbest and Ecolux ebay shop.
Keeppower 14500's are my go to for a good mix of power vs. capacity. Nitecore IMR for high output requirements and Xtar cells for cheap and cheerful, bigger capacity requirements.

I agree, but to be fair - this isn't too bad , that is so long as it is an ORIGINAL one and not a fake...........yes they fake chargers as well!
I agree with you though and generally don't buy cheap stuff, people wholesale really do not appreciate how dangerous these cells can be - usually they say,'well I have them in my laptop etc, and they don't explode' that's because they are quality cells/chargers. Look how much power tool batteries/chargers are for example.
A good protected cell is around $7, unprotected around $4-5 but you can't tell by price really!
Sorry to waffle on, but it is only out of concern for peoples safety.....

How do you get this price anyway? Has it expired?

Buying this to replace a far nastier model.
Thanks OP

Once again gearbest prove they are not worth the effort - tried to buy this charger with two 14500 batteries and another item. None of the prices or totals match in cart, went through to shipping assumign it was a bug etc, got a total which seemed about right for the 3 items with the discount code so clicked on pay by paypal expecting to get a final total breakdown and to be asked by paypal for password (as I would never link my account to Gearbest knowingly) and it went ahead and took the money with out either.

On checking the order an item is missing (the 14500 batteries - the most expensive part, still left in my cart for no reason) - no way of cancelling the order directly, you have to submit a ticket so what the betting they will say I missed the deadline?

Everytime I have used them (only twice before some time ago) I have had problems so will go back to avoiding them!

OP, you claim that this is "worth a punt". However, the Republic of Ireland's version of the UK pound, a punt, or euro as it is now known, is worth around 82.5p at today's exchange rate. So this is not, technically, "worth a punt".

Order one

Sorry. Accidentally pressed Cold

Did you login first prior to adding everything to your cart and discount code etc?
I've used GB tonnes and have never had the issue you describe (other than the order cancelling thing - that's annoyingly accurate.)

I always assume "punt" means "take a gamble", ie, putting a bet on...but you know that already

I ordered two...hopefully GB aren't sniffy about using discount codes twice from different accounts...I have a few ancient non-smart battery chargers and these are ideal for travelling with as well (hook up to a powerbank).

These can be a powerbank too as I recall if you stick in a charged battery. They are great little things when you just need to top up a single battery, be it Li-Ion or Ni-mh.

There's also a page discussing a mod for this unit (beyond my ken) that may interest some: "How to fix high charge voltage in Liitokala Lii-100 and how to make lower charge currents" budgetlightforum.com/nod…086

14500 are AA size only but are 3.7volt lithums, likely to fry the device or vent

When I had only the charger in my basket and used the code it showed the reduced price, it then changed after I added more items

If anyone is new to lithium rechargeable batteries, take a few minutes and read the following thread which will give you sound advice about charging, storage and use, as well as highlighting the benefits and pitfalls.

Thanks, I'm honestly just looking to try a couple in a torch and see if it makes a worthwhile difference for me. I don't use the torch that often so don't want to spend a fortune, it's mainly curiosity. But I also don't want to buy anything useless or dangerous. I presume from what you've said that you are happy that everything you've received from these companies are the genuine article?
