Elac subwoofer. Not the lowest, but 35Hz and the wrong track will bring your neighbors into the street looking for the cause. Don't let it overwhelm your system and you're good to go.

Looks good. I have an Elac S10EQ sub and it's absolutely fantastic. Would recommend the brand.
Hate people that play that loud. That aside if you buy a decent hi fi you dont need this.

Go on, why dont you need a sub
A sub is a nasty replacement for a well balanced hi fi , with speakers that have crossover circuitry to ensure a balanced sound.
Go on then reply to that.

Maybe not everybody wants a flat sound from their system
Thump, Thump , Thump is a flat sound. Oh I give up.

For speakers having small volume cabinets, a sub can be an elegant and musical solution. I have an Elac sub myself that competes with subs costing 8x the price. Some of my other equipment includes B&W, Ortofon, Wadia, Nakamichi........ thump thump thump indeed

Oh so your 'special' hifi without a sub can reach the same frequency range as one without How can it be balanced with a piece missing
Been needing a new sub for a while now, great timing cheers.

Nothing beats a sub for blasting music into your body so that you can actually feel it.
Voted hot! This or the bk gemini ii?

bk gemini ii, but it's twice the price.

I haven't heard either, but I believe the BK Gemini ii is a sealed sub and also has variable phase control (worth checking). If so then the Gemini would be more musical and the one to go for.

Hi,
bing.com/vid…GAR
This guy admits he was a bit like you, if you search through his information you may find out why he has changed his mind.
He is not god and the font of all knowledge but seems to have lots of experience with sound.
I am inclined to agree with you that two 8" speakers able to go deep may be preferable, but in the intro I do say that this is for those unable to afford that "well balanced" effect you mention.
If you can point to a pair of speakers able to go down to 35Hz for £120 we all would be grateful.

Coming from a musical background, I noticed too much bass is just annoying. Subs are useless to me aswell, but I think people go for them for the added 'immersion' of feeling like you're in the scene

In the intro I point out not to let it overwhelm your system.
If the music includes lower frequencies a "well balanced" system would include those lower frequencies. they would not be cut off at 55Hz.
Expired. Now £149
