More crap for families to throw out when we die
Another marketing disaster. Big Sleeve editions and VHS Style editions, both flopped.

Its like kids at christmas.....much more interested in the box it came in than the contents
I don't often celebrate the 1980's and even less VHS. The world isn't necessarily better for having Smartphones, but it's a lot better than still having VHS video tapes. I suppose they were useful in their day unlike floppy disks which were a place for data to go to die.

But having exhusted director's cuts, and restored versions, remastered versions, 4K versions, how are they going to sell us the same thing again?

I loved Big sleeve editions
Great Price Heat Added, however sadly I think these retro VHS editions will soon die a death, not proving so popular, so they may soon be extinct like the Big Sleeve Editions, still I must admit the Big Sleeve Editions were nice but way to big, I kept 2 out of 5 I purchased and ended up selling 3 to CEX. Not sure why these VHS retro editions are not proving to popular, again I think its due to space, such ideas often come along but rarely are a success, over in Spain they have invested in similar ideas, you can now buy horizontal Blu-Rays not vertical LOL but one of there great ideas that does seem to be proving a success in Spain are the limitedmoleskin editions which are very unique and I think they would do well here in the UK, the moleskin editions come with a thin notepad consisting of blank pages & exclusive film artwork on the front & rear.
interesting but don't think a bluray and a film branded notebook would sell over here it certainly wouldn't appeal to me a notebook definitely isn't nostalgic for me like the original movie poster albeit mini sized and vhs styled box and bubblegum card and sticker again very nostalgic for those of us that grew up with them they are a cool talking point with friends that see them i don't think they would be interested in hey look at my cool film branded notes book

yes these are very niche but to a collector they are great plus your getting them often for the same price or less as a standard blu-ray without anything but the box it came in especially when some older movies have had the price intentionally hiked for older stuff

I agree, the moleskin notebooks are pretty cool though, but the problem with the VHS idea is the folded poster, I couldn't bear putting a poster that had been folded up on the wall, but I'm a perfectionist so this may not bother some people, I do like Art card's though, but my favourite collector's editions contain statues & film related ornaments.

Waste of money just stick to the normal releases i like my collection to all have all same cases so dont look odd on the shelf.

Same with steelbooks just dont see the point paying more when your not going to get all the films you like on steelbooks.

some like me happen to like them, and when im mostly paying less than the new on its own bluray price then to me they are worth it
Which HMV branches have these been spotted in (recently)? They were widely available last year only to disappear (presumably for Zoom to sell when HMV hit trouble) - so just wondering if they are coming back to all HMV stores, or if one store found a few out the back and thought it's time to shift those! Please post if you spot them in stores (and where!).
Got my Big Sleeves from Tesco's when they were selling them off for about a £5 each. Bought some LP frames from Dunelm and hung them on the wall in the den.
