You won't be disappointed, it's a cracking phone for this sort of money.
Had mine for about 7 months and it's been rock solid, great battery life for such a large phone as well.
MrSwitch15/02/2019 17:52

Yep. Shall update

Bargain.. At this price this is surely the best phone you can get for this price range.. Terms of bang for buck..

Ordered also to tide me over until they release a midrange with nfc.

Seems this company doesn't process orders over the weekend and doesn't have the ability to do live stock level updates. Hope they honour all orders.
Order this or wait for redmi note 7 pro?? Ummmm

Yeah I noticed this to but I googled them and their reviews seem good so hopefully everything will be OK with orders really looking forward to getting this phone seems great for the price.

I'm assuming this will be Oreo out the box. But if not, yeah it should be available.

My thoughts exactly, had a nexus 5 for as long as I can remember and it's been showing its age for awhile now.
Great deal hope they have enough stock

If you end up hating MiUi then Nova Launcher gives you nearly stock Android very easily and makes this behave pretty much like a stock unbloated Oreo phone. 3 day battery is possible, I only use 35% a day compared to 70% on the old Moto G4+ that this replaced.

Dual Sim dual 4G at the same time, an excellent dual simmer. Can easily be tweaked to enable VoLTE (4G calling) that works reliably (at least it does on EE for me) on both sims at the same time.
VoWifi (wifi calling) can be enabled but may not work (I haven't been able to test it yet)

The only annoyance I find is the screen seems to sometimes have a mind of its own, I'm typing an email or text then the screen skips to another app or the homescreen.... I've not concluded if it's my clumsy fingers or the phone (but only have this issue on this phone)

I have my Halifax Clarity card down the back of my RN5 phone case. I know there are other benefits to NFC - but in terms of paying for things, or swiping to go on the tube, this works just fine.

Happens to me once in a blue moon. Tends to resolve itself once I've wiped the screen and locked/unlocked it (I think it's moisture related).

Unless the RN7 Pro gets phase detect autofocus, the RN5 will have better/smoother video. And I'm yet to be convinced that those budget 48MP phones can actually outperform a good quality sensor as is in the RN5.

Aside from the processor being better, I'm not sure there's much else to recommend the RN7 over the 5. (I actually kept my RN5 in preference to a Mate 20 Pro. It is just a really well balanced phone for the price...and certainly gets a recommendation from me)

Yeah, me too, have never used Google Pay, but most find it convenient.
Wow that's a great price, I have been procrastinating over a worthy replacement for my original Vodafone smart ultra.
Compass?
Thanks, have ordered.

i mentioned this exact point on a you tube video and they said you are crazy if you think that the RN5 is better than the RN7, he got really annoyed with a fact based arguement,

but it is his job to to push sales for new models of phone, as they have referral links and get the phones for free,

on paper the RN7 isn't a massive step forward, only really a slight step forward, there was also a RN6, not much better either,

the note 7 has a glass back but no wireless charging a slightly better chipset, in my opinion a step back with the 48mp camera which is really only a 12mp as it needs a 845 chip to work with a 48mp camera,

The RN5 is the perfect balance, the 7 seems to be gimicky with a notch,

The RN7 seems to be designed to catch the eye of the millennials who don't care about specs and performance, does it have a glass back and does it have a wow factor of a coloured back so they can show it off on insta.

I've tested the note 7, and can say with hand on heart, the worst part about the phone, is the camera. Just bad from the outset, slow to load, loses focus constantly, poor in low light. Was very disappointing
Thanks OP I killed my redmi note 4x by dropping in the bath a few weeks back. I was going to wait for the 7 but at this price from a UK seller I couldn't resist. Here's hoping they haven't sold out.

Shame I'd like the 4gb version
Good phone. I saw a review comparing it with the redmi note 7. They found it's not worth upgrading if you have the redmi note 5. Even the camera on this is about equal to the 48MP camera on the redmi note 7 which surprised me.

Yeah, was a good review, and made me think there was no reason whatsoever to get the note 7, but having the note 7 for review for a few weeks, I wasn't that impressed, so my advice would be to buy this at this ultra cheap price. Just my opinion of course

I have the same issue. I suspect it's linked to me having full screen gestures on . Not a deal breaker for me given all the other benefits

Yep...I think the RN5 is pretty much perfect for its price point. The whole notch thing is ridiculous - just give me bezels and a normal screen. I also think the fingerprint scanner on this phone is much better positioned than the front scanners or the ones that are built into the screens.

I just wish Xiaomi would add support for video out on future models. And, if they were being super generous, a desktop PC mode like Huawei/Samsung have on their phones.

How does this compare to say the iPhone 5s? Cheers.
Don't forget Quidco to offset the delivery costs
Can this phone connect to 2 bluetooth devices at the same time?

How does the IS actually work? Sometimes I get what I can only describe as small tremors on videos while using it. It's as if something is trying to correct the movement in spurts. Sometimes I think it would be better to take IS off and use another IS soft on the pc that could deal with more natural camera shake rather than small fast tremors.
Great price but I'll hang on to my Lenovo P2 for a bit longer
Is this dual sim?
Ordered but I have my doubts it will be honoured given the interest on this forum alone!
