My health? Surely you are joking? Is that why silly vegetarians have to take added tablets to make up for their mineral/vitamin and iron deficiencies?

I am very healthy and I eat tons and tons of beef/kangaroo/veal etc.

Plus there are much bigger problems in this world to be wasting time caring about animals destined to be food. They are tools just like a hammer or screwdriver.

I think I'll take my information from the biggest meta study and research from the chaps at Harvard Medical School over some armchair expert on the internet who appears to have caught BSE judging by his moronic outbursts (_;)

Is this the kids thread?

oO seriously there is always a bunch of unnessary comments, thanks for posting OP!

saffaboy101

Oh Lord. £100 quid says you're overweight.

Could you please reframe from making personal remarks, it is against the forum rules.

saffaboy101

Did I make a personal remark? NO. I placed a bet. A personal remark … Did I make a personal remark? NO. I placed a bet. A personal remark would be something like: You're an idiot.

You are making a "bet" on the personal appearance of an individual in a derogatory manner. I am not debating with you about this, I am merely asking you to stop doing it.

How old are you?
Grow up fella, first you make a sweeping statement that all vegetarians are silly and then assert some nonsense about them needing mineral/vitamin and iron supplements which is a bit strange considering millions manage to survive very healthfully without them ?!?
Then you for some stupid reason you assume I'm fat ?? lol

Plant based diets ARE the healthiest diets for humans, if you choose to ignore all the empirical evidence that supports this then more fool you!!

Everyone's entitled to an opinion I guess!

I love these and I do eat meat. Do not knock something unless you tried it. good value price. heat from me

Hot. Thanks.for posting. Bargain butties!

Forgot the nonsense great price for some of the best tasting sausages about.

I am not a vegetarian by a long shot, however looking to cut down on meat consumption and also looking to try different things, I actually had Linda McCartney burgers tonight, and have to say , if I didn't know they were not meat would not have known the difference!
Will get some of these now to try.
Hot from me too!

Just look at your teeth and you'll soon know that we're not designed to eat meat!

I'm vegetarian. however we probably weren't designed but evolved. We are able to use our teeth for meat and in fact probably owe a lot in terms of brain size etc to our ancestors eating meat.

They are always this price and aren't all that tasty, but passable if desperate!

Not a big fan of this range but good price so have some heat.

These are absolutely disgusting, taste of paint thinner. I've got 4 boxes in my freezer i can't even seem to give them away.

As a meat eater I have to say they are delicious, but I do tend to find them a bit salty.
I have switched to Quorn sausages instead as I much prefer their taste and low fat content (I get my fat macro-nutrient from other sources like avocados).

They're usually a pound at Lidl and Iceland though for those that like to have them at hand!
I use vegetarian sausages for my breakfast

*yawn*... more lame attempts at trolling. "HAHAHA" is the best they can come up with?... I swear there are far too many 14 yo idiots on this site lately..

I think their point was that they are not
meat eating teeth. They would be pointed and angled if they were, for tearing up meat. Look at dogs teeth. Where as they are flat fronted, to cut off ends of plants, and flat, to grind up plant fibre. Eating raw meat would be a real challenge for our mouths.

You've never had a steak rare? We have canine and incisors that cut and slice and molars to chew and grind. Yes I understand we are not as good as a lion or cow but we have a happy medium that allows us to eat anything. You've confused me with dog's teeth tbh, dogs are scavengers so have all teeth types to deal with whatever they can get so similar to us really in terms of function.

So is gravity technically, both have lots of evidence.

We have omnivore teeth which are designed for eating both vegetation and meat. We have canines which you only find in carnivores and our molars are designed for crushing (herbivores have smooth molars for grinding). So we are meant to eat meat but can also eat other things and our teeth have adapted to allow for that.

Also, we have forward facing eyes which means we are predators i.e. we hunt.

But enough of that. Heat for the deal. Everyone should eat whatever they want (within reason of course) and nobody has the right to thrust their views on anyone else.

I'm afraid you're wrong. The 'canine' teeth are not like that of meat eaters. They would be thin, sharp (really sharp), long and angled if they were meant for meat. Look at a cats same teeth and how long they are. Our canines would just poke into the meat, and not tear it up so that it can be swallowed. The current theory is they would be used as tools, to bite into things (maybe nuts), and used in a utility sense. Our molars are also flat for grinding, just like herbivores, they would do very little to tough meat as they have no sharp edge. You can't crush raw meat.

If you do a Google image search for "carnivore teeth", then "herbivore teeth", you'll see the difference.

If you want to bring in other factors about our evolutionary roots, while the eyes do suggest a possibility of hunting, don't forget:
Our jaws move side-to-side, for grinding (meat eaters just rip up and down then swallow)
We don't have claws (I think it would take a long time to punch a deer to death)
Our stomach acid is far too weak for a meat eater (Need to kill the harmful bacterias)
Our intestines are far too long (long to drain plant matter, but too long for meat as it starts to go bad, colon cancer is 3x higher for meat eaters)

Hmm I think you'll find you're wrong. I didn't say we had carnivore teeth. I said we have omnivore teeth. That means we have teeth that have both carnivore and herbivore properties. Our molars aren't flat, they are slightly bumpy so we can grind and crush the meat. Just because we have to cook meat doesn't mean that our bodies aren't designed to eat it. We developed weapons and traps to catch our meat. We are intelligent so have to use other means to catch our prey. We evolve and learn. Just because we don't have claws or huge canines doesn't mean we haven't evolved to eat meat. We just have to find other ways of catching it and processing it compared to big cats and the likes.

Cooking, weapons, and traps are not part of evolution. The best way to show this would be for someone to eat a big chunk of raw meat. My prediction would be they would find it extremely difficult.
There's a difference between being omnivore by choice, and having a body evolved to be omnivore. Like I said before, there's a long list of characteristics that don't fit in with a meat eating diet. The eyes facing forward is the only suggestion of not being prey, but that can be explained away by advantages such as having depth perception.
