These are lovely if you're in a hurry. You can microwave but best if their are done in the oven

Fresh pasta rolls filled with spinach and soya mince on a bed of tomato sauce, topped with béchamel sauce and sprinkled with vegetarian cheddar cheese.

At 50p each these are a steal, normally £1.89 in local Tesco or Sainsburys

If vegetarians don't want to eat meat, why do they put so much effort into pretending that they are?

I personally wouldn't go anywhere near a microwave ready meal but at 50p its a good price so gave it heat

Are you 3? It's hardly rocket science....

If you like the taste of meat but disagree with the killing of animals, guess what a good thing to eat is. Fake meat products...

Yes, show your dislike for the meat industry, by pretending to eat it.

I quote myself, over three years ago.

cheapo:
This argument that 'I don't understand why they make vegetarian food look like meals that have meat in' is so f'ing stupid.

Ok, when was the last time you saw a pig made up of cylindrical sausages? How about a cow comprised of pasties? Ooh mummy, look at that chicken, its like a nugget with wings!

There is no monopoly on certain shapes of foodstuff having to have dead animal in them. Did I miss an 11th commandment?

Sausages, pies, pasties, rolls, are all man made constructs to hold food. It doesn't have to be meat. They are mere vessels to present food in a convenient manner. Just because a vegetarian decides not to eat meat does not mean they have to throw out every other convention including shape and portion size. We do not do it because we are secretly salivating over meat. We do it out of convenience.

Now you have the exception. There are cuts of meat that vegetarians try and replicate, like bacon for instance. So the argument would have more weight there. But, even bacon is a modification of the meat as it fits on the pig. The rashers do not peel off individually, they have to be cut and shaped in a way that is convenient and pleasing to the eater. What is wrong with making the shape of food palatable?

My next book will be 'Beef crisps: why do they try and make them taste like beef when they have no meat in them?'
What shape and taste would you like my food to be until you shut up, and go back to ploughing your way through thousands of slaughtered sentient beings (you know them things that have babies in fields, and live like families until you decide that you want a lamb kebab), even though most on here would not dream of actually killing the things themselves.

Since when do chicken pieces look like chickens? They don't, they look like small portions palatable for human being. Do you rebel against cheese & onion pasties in the same way because the ones you like have beef in?

When people stop making that facile argument 'why do they do it, if they don't want to eat meat', then I will stop pasting my previous reply.

Boring!

Funny how so many meat eaters have a pop at vegetarians as soon as a veggie deal appears.
Guilty conscience, love?
Never fails to amuse me.

Thanks

Not a very Anarchist like attitude, you'll be hard pressed to find one who isn't Vegan or Veggie.

You do realise that makes zero sense? I'm struggling to work out if you're just trying to provoke something or you're really this thick! There is no such thing as "the" meat industry. It's a series of companies that make a variety of meat products. Not a single person working for a single one of those companies will interpret someone buying a vegetarian meal as someone who will buy meat from them.

cant knock farmfoods, they have some decent offers, hot

Why do you put effort into reading veggie deals and being the first to comment? Shouldn't you be on your way to the butchers ?

It's just trolling. No one's that stupid.

Cruelty Free, great deal. Hot.

Soya does not taste like meat. Have a vegetable cannelloni instead, it'll be much tastier.

I found it a bit on the sloppy side with hardly any soya mince in. They also have the LM chicken style fillets in mediteranean sauce, for the same price, so you can mix them and try one of each.

I don't doubt that this product doesn't really taste like meat as I'm not a big fan of soya mince, but many soya products do.

And I'd rather have a vegetable cannelloni but when these are 50p...

I'm not a veggie but I like veggie foods, especially as it helps to cut out a bit of meat every now and then which is helpful in weight loss.

Is the Soya GM free ?

uksnapper

Yep all Linda McCartney foods are made with non GM soya

Fantastic , thank you & heat added

I couldn't be a vegetarian, animals just taste too good, especially pigs.

i absolutely concur with "termite"...you eat cows, pigs, sheep etc because they are dumb basically...we don't eat cats, dogs, monkey's etc because they are very much more intelligent than other animals...all creatures have a right to life...except of course Terrorists & pedo's.
oh forgot to say NO CANNELLONI in Farmfoods Pentwyn Cardiff ...buga !

Well not meat anyway...

not in the wigan store just looked as my mate is vegetarian and shops there

Tastes lovely for ready made food, plus the extra benefits of no GM and Meat Free plus 50p each
Not like cannelloni or lasagne I'm used to made fresh with strong flavours, this is a bit bland, but not as bland as most ready made foods.

Meat eaters who come and comment on veggie deals what do you get out of it? I thought this site was about seeing deals and saving money. Not interested in your stupid remarks and eating habbits. Go troll on a dead animal deal or is that where us veggies should be, preaching on like you lot seem to do on all veggie deals. Its's a good deal so HOT. Get to the butchers.

What a pointless comment... Nobody mentioned why it looks like meat, just asked why make it taste/feel like meat if you don't like meat...

Mmmmmhh, could murder a lamb kebab right now, I wonder where I could get one at 7:45am, would make the most amazing breakfast!

You know what a really pointless comment is? Saying a comment is pointless after it's had 26 likes...

(Yes I realise the irony that I'm making a comment about a pointless comment which is about another (pointful) comment)

And why have you reposted someone elses comment!? That is the definition of pointless..
