I understand that people don't appreciate the slaughtering, but why go …I understand that people don't appreciate the slaughtering, but why go then and buy *fake* animal produce, made to look like a pork sausage or minced meat

Because apparently you eat meat products not because you like the food, but because you want to see more dead animals?

I dunno why meat eaters always think this is such a "gotcha", when it's bloody obvious why we buy meat alternatives- for the exact same reason you buy meat ones. The usual mix and match of they taste nice or they're convenient or they fit our dietary or budgetary needs. You know... food reasons.

I've been vegetarian since I was eight years old, and the smell of real meat makes me gag. The idea of eating dead animals is icky to me in the same way that the idea of eating insects is icky to most people. So meat alternatives aren't pretending to me meat to me, they're just food.

Judging by the spelling and grammar it would seem a lifetime. I think these commenters/trolls think they're funny.

Thanks OP!
