Was in Tesco Springburn yesterday and picked up Linda McCartney vegtarian sausages for £1 a packet. Don't know how long the price will stay as such or if it's nation-wide

Nice and no meat eater comments, YET. Just noticed only 97p in Asda but still a good deal.

I'm a meat eater, but I do not eat sausages. I like these though!

i would much rather eat one of these than a pork sausage, at least i know whats in this lol.
Very tasty, in fact i'm having these for dinner tonight

Iceland have these for a quid year round. Also a load of other Linda McCartney and branded (cannot remember which) vegetarian food stuffs such as cauliflower bakes, cheese and onionbakes etc.

made only with the most natural vegetarian pork ever, always read the label

These taste great, I prefer them to meat sausages and less messy to cook. I just paid over double this for a pack in another supermarket

Been 98p in my local Asda for a while

Always £1 in Iceland, along with the burgers.

How many is in a pack at Iceland?

If I remember the Iceland ones were 5 I think because it was a really awkward number given I cook in pairs.

Edit - Forgot to add, the Tesco ones are a 6 pack.

They are all vegi.

i've never tried these ones, but other vegi sausages i've had have been chewy, rubbery and generally minging.

are these any better?

yes, way better and taste best when done in the oven imo

in my opinion these are definitely the best tasting sausage - including all meat and non meat sausages.

Plus they are much much much healthier. And if you go gym and like to have a protein diet each sausage has over 11grams of protein, much higher than an average sausage (5-7grams)

I still dont understand why vegetarian food is made to look like meat.

Very tasty, and I'm no vege.

They taste ok if you wrap them in smoked streaky bacon and fry them, other than that its like chewing a rubber dog toy

If only this were made hot around 9am because I went to Tescos in the morning. Looks like I'll have to make a visit to my local Tescos!!!

I still don't understand how every vegie deal on here attracts the exact same comments each time.

Some people like a substitute - some of these people are veggies, some, as can be seen in the comments are meat eaters

It's just a shape really, whether you use processed meat or processed soya. Its just formed to look like a sausage, Just like you can get pork sausages, beef sausages, think of this as soya sausages...

True but Iceland's pack has only got 5 sausages, while the standard is 6

I am a Muslim and there are halal beef and chicken sausages for us to eat. but I would love to try these due to the high protein content and low in fat.

This has always been £1 and Iceland as well sell them for £1 .Have been buying them at this price since last year

Just bagged myself 6 boxes of these

Easily the best veg sausages around - much nicer than meat sausages IMO

They seem to have been on offer in Sainsbury's every 3 or 4 weeks for most of this year as well (ranging from BOGOF, to half price, to £1)

I do believe meaty bangers came first.
