It's a plant-based alternative to duck, for people who don't want to be involved in the murder of ducks. How can anyone be so thick that they don't understand that? Eating meat must make you dim.

Surely can't call it duck if it has never quaked

I totally agree, I'm Veggie and I find it quite off putting when these companies use types of meat as names.

Nowt against sausages and burgers though. I can cope with those.

Agreed. 'sausage' and 'burger' refer to the shape so that makes sense. Pigs in blankets? No, it isn't pig. It's vegetarian sausage in a blanket. Says what it is, doesn't affect the taste or the experience of eating it.

I think you mean quacked. Unless, of course, you are referring to it shaking or shuddering with fear.
"Duck, Pork, Chicken" same contents, different packages?
If it walks like a duck and quacks it's a duck
Tried most veggie options but not these. What are they like? Any veggies recommend?
not at our Morrisons

I tried the 'Pulled Pork' under duress. I think it was on BOGOFF somewhere. It was a few months ago now and there's most of it still in the freezer waiting for that desperate day when there's nowt left to eat!

My Missus and I think it's gopping! I can't imagine this stuff is any better. Having said that, people's tastes differ. You might think it's right good.

We don't have vegetable flavoured beef steak do we?

Or vegetable flavoured chicken ?...

Doesn't sound right. Sorry.

I am Korean and ordered several hot dogs, only to find out they contain trotters and snouts of pigs. THIS MUST STOP AT ONCE. Plus you say it's raining cats and dogs when it's just water.

They're not listening, probably "Corn Beef"

Dog. Same as saying it's duck when it isn't I thought. So where's all the anger about that off the anti vegetarian brigade?

You must have been eating out posh there, normally they are just made from todgers and fufu's.
Broc_Mudflap17/08/2019 16:42

I'd quite happily see the end of Uniquorns.

Well,you have a point there.
They should rename it to: Imitation Duck made from plant protein.

Again, take it up with Linda McCartney as nobody on here can do anything about it, better get those Lion bars, hot dogs etc etc sorted while you are saving the world one renamed product at a time
This stuff is so tasty, thank you for posting.

I have been ignoring them and their horse lasagne for a long time now I will get some of that next time I stock up, thanks
I use the pulled pork style as a tuna substitute, good find as this is usually£2.50 at Sainsbury's unless on offer.

Because it indicates what it tastes like. Gets the point across very easily. What's the big deal?

Why? It's not very catchy, and anyone with two brain cells can figure out what "vegetarian duck" is meant to be.

Who cares? As long as it effectively gets the point across, I've no clue why people get their knickers in such a twist about it. As you say, the name makes no difference to eating it, so I genuinely don't see the issue.
