Looks to be a good deal here - Argos are offering 2 for the price of 1, so just £22.99 for both gates. I've reserved my for local collection as no delivery option. Seems to be £18.99 at Amazon for 1 gate, so this is a good saving as long as your local store has stock.

NOTE: make sure you add 2 to the order to get the offer! Thanks MOD.

Safety Gates Explained

Safety gates can be fitted at the top and bottom of stairs, as well as to prevent your baby getting into certain rooms. Gates are usually suitable up to 24 months, but remember this is only a guide - some children are naturally more active and inquisitive than others! All of our safety gates comply with BS EN 1930. Remember... as safety gates vary in width it is important to select one that will fit securely, so don't forget to measure the gap to make sure the safety gate you choose fits perfectly. Make sure you regularly check the gate is fitted tightly to avoid accidents.

Cheers OP - Make sure you add two to the basket for offer to appear

These don't self close like the Asda deal, I bought two from Asda but the self close facility is driving me nuts hence why I am buying again

Can anybody who bought the ones from Asda confirm whether they come with a free voucher for a 7cm extension?

Hot! Thanks op. Just got the keys to our first home and needed these.

yes, these ones don't self close like the asda one, so heat from me. thanks OP

great find thnx op

Thanks for this, have a new puppy and paid this for 1 from Amazon a couple of days ago. I can secure the rest of the house now.

Asda one didn't have voucher for extension - they're £8 from Lindam direct, but each model seems to have a different extension so make sure you buy the correct one. I haven't put my extension on gate yet as gate is going to in-laws

the 2 i ordered didn't have a voucher...

Thanks so much OP - just reserved 2. Been looking for some pressure fit gates and didn't fancy the ones Asda had on offer due to the self-shut mechanism. Worried about waking the little one

Thanks. Read lots of reviews on Amazon which said it slammed shut loudly. Glad I didn't buy. Great price for these ones but hate the fact that I am going to have to shell out extra for the extensions. They're nearly as expensive as the gates themselves!

Thanks. Reserved, were not due yet, but will no doubt be handy soon.

Heat Added these are fantastic - we already have 2 at home

They do slam shut if you push it, otherwise use the handle to close (my gate is right outside my 2yr olds room and its never waken her!!)

Great deal, thanks.

Thanks OP reserved this offer, will setup one in the flat and the other at mums.

Anyone know of a gate that fits a gap of about 71cm? Tried to find one myself but I can't seem to.

I bought the £12.50 ones from asda and payed another £8.99 for an extension, but hate these, wish i read reviews as the gate slams loudly when closing.

Check the Argos book, it tells you the size of the opening the gates will fit. There are 3 gates that will fit a 71cm opening 376/0907 375/5486 375/5493 measure you gap as 72cm will add three more to choose from.

do i need to put a code in as when i put 2 in the basket it doubles the price

Should be still available, website states

Buy one Lindam Standard Easy Fit Plus safety gate (376/3478) and get another free. To receive this offer please add item twice to your trolley. Offer ends 05 June 2012.

I literally just bought a BabyDan unit from John Lewis today - set me back 49.50. Had considered one of these however it appears I have mucho fat doors in my gaff and needed something that could span 98cm.

I feel somewhat robbed, but least I got what I needed.

We have these gates - they're really good and this is a great price! We got ours BOGOHP from Boots about 2 months ago.

I use this gate to keep my pet iguana locked in her room too!

Bought 2 Lindam Pushloc gates from Argos yesterday for £14.99 each. Think I'll take them back tomorrow and get these ones instead. Anyone know the differance between the two types or are they the same?

The Pushloc ones were half price, so a good deal as well. Anyone tried them both to recomend one over the other?

What I had to do to make this work, was add 1 to the basket. View the basket, then increase the quantity to 2, the BOGOF offer should then apply.

HTH.

Seems a bit nanny state to me. How is a child going to learn about stair safety if the stairs are gated off?

LOL! You're kidding right? What happens if you're out of the room for a minute and find your child has fallen down the stairs? The point of these is to keep your child safe from harm - you cant be there every second watching your childs every move can you?

I agree they need to learn about stair safety, but they cant learn that when they're just crawling and don't understand safety, fear or common sense...

I agree it's like crossing the road , when my child is walking and talking I will tell him to be careful, give him the green cross code and let him get on with it. Nothing like a fatal road accident to teach him that he shldnt have walked in front of that car.

Natural selection - I like it, Darwin will be proud of you son.

I wonder what type of kids will win out, Fat sturdy round ones that will just roll on down? or little skinny ones that don't have half the gravitational issues.... Let us know!

Heat added - got to our local branch just in time - had 3 left own stock....perfect!
