Went into my local ASDA at the weekend to swop the stairguard i bought for the stair gate and found they were reduced to £7.80 each now. It said £23.98 originally on shelf but i have seen them cheaper.
The lady at customer services said that most stores will put them back in stock room until next baby event but if you ask for one they will get them out for you. She also said this is nationwide.

Hope this helps someone!

this is great find. thank you very much.. heat added

Fab find thanks

These are rubbish, anybody who trusts a temporary moveable gate for say, a hefty toddler who is trying to climb over it at the top of a flight of stairs, needs their head examing. I bought the ones that are fixed to the walls, they might leave a bit of a mess (screw marks) but at least I know my kid is safe.

it is 7.80 for the fix to the wall ones too. the customer service lady showed me both kinds and they are the same price. I agree with you about the fabric stairguard one which is why i was taking it back for an exchange in the first place. Probably would be okay to use to stop baby getting into kitchen but not so safe for stairs.
I have the pressure fixed ones all over my house and they are fab!

Provided you fit these correctly then they are fine. We've used a couple with both our kids and they worked well.
Great price, good find.

I have these around the house as dog gates - both the screw to the wall type and the other type too - they stop both my big dogs from running around the house - I would recommend both types for dogs.

I have purchased one of these and can say that if fitted securely, they are very safe.

Many Thanks !

My kids don't climb over ours because I told them not to.
And they can run full pelt into them and they won't budge...in fact, I forgot it was locked one night and stubbed my toe, and went into full hissy fit mode and gave it a good booting....which ragged my feet, but didn't shift the gate.
If you spend a fair bit of time fitting them, turning the turny bits with an adjustable wrench, then they're very very safe.

i have 3 children and have always used these gates ;0 wonder if i can convince hubby for another baby as these gates are a bargain ! .........Well found (and jokes aside i'm happy with the 3 i have) lol ,

I think they come with a voucher to get an extension free, you just pay the postage.

Sorry bit confused are these the type where you actually have to move the gate itself to get past or does the gate swing open ???

This gate swing open and if it's the right model, it will alarm too once opened when you put batteries on it. I bought mine at £29 and this is definitely a bargain, problem with fitting? not in my case as it does fit well and very much secured....

Bought 2 of these in Farnbough Asda, but sure I paid £7.40 each? Also had pack of 2 tommee tippee dummies for 50p each

You can get free stair-gate from surestart. great find though!

I bought one of these from Asda for my son. Absolutely useless, albeit he is 24 and can just open and close them as he sees fit

Thanks OP!

still £15 at my local asda

which store was this in? Just been into my local store and they said they only have them for baby events.

Are these the ones with the blue handles (as in the picture?). I have seen the same model in my local ASDA, but with light brown handles and they cost £15 each. Anyone got the SKU code handy?
