I don't see the problem with Easter eggs, the supermarkets have way too much stock, if people want to buy excess easter egss, then go for it. If it was essential items then that is a different story
My family haven't had Easter eggs this year as I didn't think to buy any on my last shop and decided it was non essential to go out again to make a special trip just for chocolate. If my shop was today and I saw these I would buy a whole tray too, as that would be one each for our family. The op might have purchased them all for him/herself but equally for all the family. Calling someone greedy without knowing the circumstances is really judgemental and unkind.

I agree with you. I have had to buy items for other people who are isolating on my shopping trip & have had some stares for sure (from people who are assuming all items are for me!) people are quick to judge. Can’t say I’ve bought any Easter eggs though except 1 for my neighbours little boy & my nephew.

Did you leave any for anyone else? I bet you've got your whole spare room filled with pasta and bog roll.

Nah it's probably filled with illegals.

I too agree. I so badly want to go and get some but in the current situation can't justify going to get just chocolate as I did my main shop last week. I think it's completely fair game for anyone who needs to go shopping and pick up some Easter eggs.
In my opinion there shouldn’t be any discounted eggs for greedy people to hoover up, these should be donated to the NHS and other frontline staff.
What is one mans essential is another’s inessential. I like many others have limited my shopping but when I do venture out later I will be looking for reduced Easter eggs along with milk fruit tea bags. As long as you’re not going JUST for these then I see no issue.

Would ya look at that, taking the high ground. Let's load up NHS staff on sugar which we know negatively impacts the immune system?

There are plenty of people doing this already, plenty of chocolate gets wasted even still and this year will be a lot more waste this year. I don't think NHS staff are in dire need of chocolate I think they would prefer PPE and better funding.
Think I will hop on to this deal. I need to shop soon.

No not the high ground, it’s just the right thing to do at this time; it is very possible they have children at home in very difficult circumstances because their parent(s) are putting themselves in danger - giving staff an extra egg or who knows it maybe their only one is the right thing to do at this time.

Agree on the PPE and funding but until the supermarkets start discounting PPE not sure the relevance of your point.... Pretty sure if they gave chocolate away it wouldn’t get wasted (unless people didn’t eat it) but that’s a pure assumption on my part based on the fact people are greedily buying more when the price drops...

OK I think I get it, you want the supermarket to use their staff resources to get all the left over chocolate to send into the hospitals to feed NHS staff of this vital resource they have requested?

sounds good, start a change.org petition for it

NHS staff don't need sugar at all. No one need to be honest. They should bin it rather than discount it. Low price = more fat kids and unhealthy people.

Personally I disagree on binning any food when there is poverty in the world.
Pretty sure it would be up-to the NHS staff if they wanted the sugar... equally not entirely sure a chocolate egg equals obesity problems... there are such things as moderation and exercise which I am sure frontline NHS staff get plenty of during their working day
I don't see a problem with buying then up. There were literally hundreds in the Morrisons near me. Reduced non essential EXCESS stock! No different to any other Easter

Why would they need to do that, most supermarkets have special times for NHS staff to shop, that is not only the qualification it is also the delivery method; glad I could help your conundrum :-).
