Yeah I know I'd be ABLE to use it in ubuntu.. but if something went wrong they'd probably say I was using it in an unsupported OS.

" In-Built BitTorrent Client" umm, no.

The version 3 of the ]Linkstation Live does, but the version 2 (like the picture shows) doesn't come out of the box with BitTorrent. If you want to run BitTorrent on a version 2 you need to replace/hack the firmware.

Got one of these and it's fantastic, works perfectly with Hi-Def vob files streaming to PS3

looks good, so i take it the ps3 would recognise this no probs. Any1 know for sure?

I paid £75 for the 320Gb version 5 months ago so well hot!

Anyone know if this works on Vista (I know it doesn't list it as a supported OS but just wondered if the Cdiscount web-site blurb was just out of date)

Thanks

Amazon wrong as well then:
amazon.co.uk/Buf…e_3

it's gone up again to 84.99

had to double check the order and i have defiantly brought this for 80.74

I have the 250GB version of this and it is VERY NOISY when the DLNA (PCast) server is enabled. There is a constant grinding from the disk and I have had to disable this functionality to preserve my sanity and the health of the disk. Very disappointing as this was the reason I bought the device in the first place!

good price.

the inbuilt DLNA server is pants. it has no torrent support built in, but if you google for the steviewonder firmware and install that, you'll get a proper bt client and twonky too.

I use mine with ubuntu. The only thing you need Windows for is if you want to run NasNavigator2, which doesn't really give you a lot.

eh? 1p more expensive in amazon...this is not that hot....

Sweet machine....

I'm running Openlink on mine, full version of Debian, HellaNZB and zussaweb. Can access it from anywhere.

Plus if you're really feeling dangerous, try putting Webmin on it. If you're running Cups (to share a printer), then you have the web front end too. Just be careful because the version of Debian is Etch and it's a little limited.

nice....
