https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/asus-zenwifi-mini-cd6-ac1500-whole-home-mesh-wifi-system-3-pack-3931444Was looking at this, seems similar but cheaper. Anyone know if there's a big difference?

That uses dual band. The Linksys is Tri-band. Unless you use ethernet cabling back to a switch for each node, you will need one of your bands for the backhaul (link traffic). With dual-band you may find that your device is sharing bandwidth with the backhaul traffic and so possibly not perform as well as tri-band which can use a dedicated 5Ghz uplink for example.

It seems that every mesh deal on this site gets heat. It maybe suggests something about the demographic on this site more than the deal. How can a mesh system that is 5 years old but only 25% off be a good deal?!

Not massively but it has nonetheless. The newer ones tends to be WiFi 6 capable and they have better and more stable software that likely run better due to improved processors. I'm no expert but I don't see many other tech items that still sell for only 25% below their rrp from 5 years ago.

The RRP of this pack was about 500 quid in 2017. it regularly sold for 350-400 until 2019.

    Different code - same price
Linksys WHW0303 Velop intelligent Mesh Whole Home Wi-Fi 5 Tri-Band System, 3 PACK - White £150 with code at Ebuyer - hotukdeals went down to -55 degrees.

I've had my set two months and they have been rock solid. A massive improvement over my old Tenda MW6 mesh.

I get my full ISP speed 220Mbps all over the house and garden.
Fastest ethernet-over-wifi--bridge speed measured at 375 Mbps average using a Synology NAS at the end of the garden to a server in the loft. The Tenda managed 80Mbps in the same config. (edited)

Yes, but that is an Asus and this is Linksys and it is not all about the numbers when it comes to the quality and robustness of these devices. Cold from me as a very poor and glitchy mesh performer esp if you have a large network with many devices when you will see this creaking under the slightest pressure. (edited)

This is a v2 Linksys Velop. A lot of the bad reviews were for the v1. If you look around you will find bad reviews of the Asus mesh products, all the way up to high priced XT8's.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews and could not find one single product where no-one complained. Netgear, BT, Ubiquiti all had their haters.

I had no reliability issues with my old Tenda mesh but wanted faster throughput having upgraded from 63 Mbps fibre to 220 Mbps FTTP. In the end I tried the Linksys Velop V2 three pack, on the basis I could return within 14 days, and was chuffed with the speed and reliability. Every mesh I have had is setup in bridge mode so doesn't used any built-in gimmicks such as anti-virus, child protection or whatever.

I had Tenda MW5 and we have solid walls. I had them for a month and, despite trying all the different solutions offered by Tenda, here and general searching, they remained shocking performers. I sent them back and instead moved to Deco M5, and it was like night and day. Rock solid performance. If I didn't have the M5's, these would tempt me as they are tri-band.

Now back up to £215.99 with code.
Still available at £149.99 at Box with code though.
