Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway : The Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway is the all-in-one solution for Internet connectivity. The ADSL Modem function gives you a blazing fast connection to the Internet, far faster than a dial-up, and without tying up your phone line.

Connect your computers to the Gateway via the built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch to jump start your network. You can share files, printers, hard drive space and other resources. Attach four PCs directly, or connect more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The built-in Wireless-G (802.11g) Access Point allows up to 32 wireless devices to connect to your network at a blazing 54Mbps, without running cables through the building. It's also compatible with Wireless-B (802.11b) devices, at 11Mbps. The Gateway's Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share that high-speed Internet connection.

Wireless-G Notebook Adapter : Wireless-G is the upcoming 54Mbps wireless networking standard that's almost five times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country but since they share the same 2.4GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices can also work with existing 11Mbps Wireless-B equipment.

It is HIGHLY recommended if anyone gets this you also get a compatable aerial antenna for it of at least 5db, 11db+ preferably

And not to degrade your post edi, but just to advise, if anyone plays lots of games and/or torrents alot (ie routes thousands of connections through this) then they will freeze and crash this router or slow it down to a crawl until it clears dozens of minutes later or you restart the router, the chipset it uses is horrible (this is from personal experience)

PS: Unless your laptop is completely up to date in it's XP updates and even then, you might be forced to use the Linksys software to run that PC Card, but laptops have had wireless for so long now thats unlikely.

Thanks nobleone

Can you explain a bit more ...

Looking back at my post it was rather biased

After my agony I gave it to my parents who have thisworking at their place without problems, but bear in mind all they do surf, e-mail and skype occasionally, nothing heavy (ie. gaming/p2p) this router is fine for light usage.

However even for light usage, the router can still stall when the sync stalls, don't know what else to call, every ISP I've hadthis problem with always says unplug for 30mins and plug the line back in and it fixes it, and it does 5-10mins usually works however, alot of routers suffer this fault though when a line just won't sync and/or hook up to PPP ATM login and requires line unplug and/or router restart /technogabble

i have one of these, i bought it by accident, can this be used as a gaming adapter or bridge ? as there sometimes called, so that i could plug my xbox and xbox 360 into this and it would wirelessly connect to my cable router in my other room which is hooked up to my pc and cable modem.

i currently have a bridge and it works well but it only has one ethernet port at the back of it, and i thought since you guys seem to know what your talking about that you might know if this would work ?

ijwia it can be used as in WAP only mode, ie should u want a multi WAP'd house, u could have 11 WAPS in your house, each on its own channel each acting connecting people to your network/subnet

Nice find Edi!. This is an excellent bundle IMHO. Particularly like the WAG354G. One of the most user-friendly ADSL Modem Routers i've used and recommended. Never found the need to add an additional antenna however the provision is there for an antenna to be added where required.

Price comes up as £40.87 including VAT (perhaps Misco.co.uk have dropped the price of the bundle excluding carriage?).

Anyone aware of a deal where you the bundled adaptor is a USB2 type as opposed to a network adaptor?

I had problems streaming wirelessly to the Xbox/Xbox360 with this Linksys router when I got one from Currys. It was quite choppy.
On the plus side, it's very easy to configure and manage. The interface is quite userfriendly.
Anyway, I had to return it because watching videos wirelessly was impossible.

I have a brand new USB adapter & still sealed when I bought a 3Com router from LowestonWeb a couple of weeks ago. I'm after a PCMCIA adapter, so if you go for this deal and are willing to exchange, drop me an email.

The USB adapter I have is the one on this picture
