Apparently they only work if you have killer branded network cards in your gaming pcs

I had the 1900acs for a day and had to return it, not sure if it was defective but it didn't play nice with some phones in the household.

After some research, it seems it was a common issue.

Ended up with a d link instead which is pretty good though.

Probably worth researching to check if this suffers from the same problems, otherwise it's a great price.

Thought you were joking at first, but on reading the Linksys webpage, it seems Killer is a brand.

Anyways, isn't this router like any other router except with QoS set to gaming by default?
Gimmicky router, I've set a camel-alert for £50
OOS with Amazon, still letting you order but with no delivery estimate
Having owned one recently I can confirm it's a great bit of kit, however it does have serious issues with the WiFi connection dropping on the recent firmware update. Hopefully that'll be corrected soon!

I dom't think so, most routers use QOS, and you sometimes prioritize different games generally, but this one needs specific network cards see:

To be clear this router will work with any client device, it's the 'killer engine network optimisation' that relies on 'killer' branded products at each end of the link. From the looks of it it's slightly smarter QoS in that at a router level you can classify processes on your PC which is kinda neat but good manual classification would do the job equally well.

I had a nighthawk r7000 p that was a decent router but suffered hugely with bufferbloat even with QoS enabled. I bought this through the ebuyer deal and although I don't have any killer pcs etc just enabling the QoS on this has solved it no more bloat. And seems to play much nicer with my PS4 too. Very happy with mine no WiFi issues yet

Most routers seem to do prioritization by application as QOS (even my old ones) and automatically also prioritize video and voip (for instance) but this one apparently does a better job of it for one ip if you have the right network adapter on that ip.

Sp to get the most out of this i have too buy a killer network card for the pc if so no thanks
Would there be a noticeable difference on the deal posted yesterday for £50? I game on PS4 and we have multiple devices. I’m just looking for a more stable connection as my Plusnet hub one keeps letting us down.
Looks like the next villan in the upcoming star wars saga
Expired on amazon, same price on ebuyer though

Are Vodafone routers able to be set to 'modem only' mode or just turning off WiFi on it?

Considering a router purchase as the Vodafone modem router isn't... The best.

Its not expired, you need to select Amazon on the right hand side, it is OOS though

This is basically the 3200ACM with the "killer" feature. Both are good routers. Just because you don't have a "killer" network adapter doesn't make it poor.

I'm at work at the moment but that test is what I use and I get a+ in all the tests including bufferbloat where as before I use to get a a or b for buffer bloat on old router . Speed is around 260 to 300 mark and I get a+ in total hope that helps

You are correct. It is not possible to set Vodafone supplied router to "modem only".
Looked at Vodafone forums for solutions and no ideal solution..
I set the Vodafone router to 192.168.2.1 with Wi-Fi OFF, DHCP on.
Then connected to Linksys WAN port with Linksys IP set to 192.168.0.1. Works fine
How would I be able to set this up using a talk talk modem there is no option for the bridge setting for the modem. Sorry to sound like a noob

Wow, nice work OP, this is ridiculously cheap (on at £107 now, but still crazy cheap).
