WRT54GS - SpeedBooster WiFi Router

The Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect Wireless-G, Wireless-B, and other performance-enhanced SpeedBooster devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

The Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster incorporates the next generation of Wireless-G (802.11g) networking. SpeedBooster technology is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G, which increases "real-world" wireless network performance by up to 35%. Unlike other speed-enhancing technologies, SpeedBooster is fully 802.11 compliant, and a "good neighbor" to other wireless devices and technologies, using a single 2.4GHz channel as specified by the official wireless standard. And, unlike other technologies, with SpeedBooster you'll see an overall speed improvement even when running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular Wireless-G devices.

The new push button setup feature makes it easy to configure your wireless devices. Just push the button on the router and on your other SecureEasySetup-enabled wireless device to automatically create an encryption-secured wireless connection. Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) protects your data and privacy with up to 128-bit industrial-strength encryption and 802.1x authentication and authorization. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.

With the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games with the flexibility, speed, security and simplicity!

why did u change the price to 59.99??

if you go to currys and get them to pricematch the dixons website you will get it for 39.99!!

Ah sorry about that FRANK, I mis-read your post and thought it was the next best price of £59.99

Anyway, I've corrected it now and added to the title.

Thanks for letting me know

If I understand it right, this doesnt work with ADSL. Can someone please confirm this? If it does work with ADSL, I will have to visit currys today..

If you have an ethernet modem then it will work with ADSL.

It's not the In-Store price guys!

Yeah I just tried to convince Currys that Dixons has it for 39.99 after some arguing the assistant phoned a dixons store who gave the instore price of 59.99. I then tried suggesting she check the official website and the guy at dixons she spoke to said it was 59.99 again which made me look like I was making it up (grrr!, lying little...).

I got back and phoned the Dixons sales line and he confirmed that its £59.99 in-store and that their online prices may differ(by 20 quid!? I thought but hey there you go).

Seems like you were lucky in getting that deal in the first place, anyone else manage to pull it off?

Welcome to HUKD + Thanks for the feedbackKafgan

The In-Store price is £59.99 but as FRANK was pointing out, they have to price match their online price, which is showing as £39.99

The link in the main post is now showing the Dixons price.

Thanks for the welcome, nice little site this btw!

Ah well, I'm just going off what the guy from the Dixons/Currys online call center said: "they can charge less online, because its just a warehouse and costs them money to keep them there"(like I didnt know that... 20 quid difference though?, makes you realise how much profit they make at some prices) plus it doesnt say "in-store" next to the price on the ]Product Page for that item.

Yeah they make massive profits and altrhough Dixons is now part of Currys [officially], when they were seperate companies but part of the same "group", their prices differed very often, even with the same product sku number.

If you're looking for anything from Currys, always check out Currys/Currys-Digital/Dixons/PCWorld and sometimes TheLink for the same items.

So PCWorld is a partner too? oh well thats hand to know, thanks
