is that cos of their customer support, product quality, delays etc?

Never used them, no experience. This product sounds good, but not if ive got to buy a router of the same type to go with it.

The link given is not a direct link to microdirect, but goes via an affiliate network- Beware, particularly if you are trying to claim cashback!!!!

Item can be used as a standard USB wireless adaptor and it works very well - probably because of the external antenna rather than the less effective integrated type that is common in sub-minature devices.
If the manufacturer-specific features are required, then it would need to be used with a suitable hardware wireless source.

i think these are fully supported by backtrack also, and lots of mods to do for externa antennas, however the alfa networks awu36h is the way to go.........but much more expensive

Can this be used with any wireless router or must it be a Linksys?

It can be used with any wireless router but to get extra boost you needs to use it with a linksys router.

Cracking find just what i need to network my other 2 computers.

Do note however that this doesnt work with Windows 7 and is hard to get working - if at all - with Vista. I own it...

not compaible ,,, bridge requireed. I paid this price 5 years ago and … not compaible ,,, bridge requireed. I paid this price 5 years ago and the dongle was blue and the marketing was called "SpeedBoost"... needa linksys routeris this a deal?

i hacked a fonera with dd-wrt with great results as an xbox 360 wifi...may be worth checking if this is supported, better range likely better RAM than the fonera

out of stock ...shame - wanted one

Ordered one on Sunday and got it today. It's the grey (maybe looks white on the website) one Wireless-G with "Rangebooster". It says on the box that you have to have a Rangebooster router for the "Range-boost" to work though. I have a Linksys WRT54GS which has "Speedbooster" so i guess i won't get any "Rangeboosting" with this then?

Never mind. Still a good buy for under a tenner!

Not true, have mine working with Windows 7 64 bit no problem at all.

Just added it to my Asrock Ion 330 with no probs, signal strength is great and the software was up and running in a few mins.
