Product information
Get a big TV with a Roku streaming stick for smart TV, for less, with the Linsar 65UHD520.

Enjoy more detail, with 4K UHD
With four times the resolution of Full 1080p HD, 4K (UHD) TV offers stunning detail and resolution for totally life-like realism. You can now get a huge range of content in UHD 4K, including UHD Blu-ray and gaming, TV and streaming services such as Netflix 4K. Another advantage with this higher resolution TV is that, because the pixels are smaller than FHD TVs, you can sit closer to the TV before you lose definition – making a larger screen possible in a smaller room.

Bigger screen value
Priced closer to 50 – 55 inch TVs, this 65 inch Linsar TV is a mega-screen bargain. A bigger screen helps draw you into the action, making it ideal for action movies and big sports events alike.

Make it smart with Roku
Supplied with a Roku streaming stick, this big-value TV becomes smart. The Roku stick plugs into one of the TV’s HDMI sockets and, with its supplied remote control, gives you access to a wide range of smart TV content, including streaming TV services.

Catch up TV and the best streaming services
The Roku features a wide range of TV catch-up services. These include the BBC iPlayer, ALL 4, ITV Hub and Demand 5. A range of premium video streaming services are also available, including Netflix, NOW TV and Amazon Video.

Powerful wi-fi
With wi-fi built-in, the Roku streaming stick wirelessly connects to your wi-fi router. Thanks to its 4x boost in range, it easily picks up wi-fi signals where others may fail.

Control via your smartphone or tablet
For even smarter control, download the free Roku app to your smartphone or tablet. As well as controlling the player, you get extra features including private listening and cast to TV. Connect headphones to your smartphone or tablet and you can listen in private. See photos, video and music stored on your device on the big screen by casting to the TV.

Fully connected for sources, old and new
Featuring three HDMI sockets, you’ll still have two spare once the Roku is connected. These are perfect for a set-top box and Blu-ray player or games console. Twin USBs sockets are provided for media devices. You’ll also find a SCART socket, which is perfect for connecting older devices and much harder to find on many current TVs.

PVR USB
One of the USB sockets lets you connect a USB memory stick to use as a PVR. PVR stands for Personal Video Recorder and lets you record TV programmes via the set's Electronic Programme Guide. It can also pause live TV - just like a subscription based set-top box.

Supersize your viewing pleasure, with the Linsar 65UHD520.

British brand but the TVs are just rebranded Vestrel sets. The name Linsar …British brand but the TVs are just rebranded Vestrel sets. The name Linsar is actually an amalgamation of Lynne and Sarah, the wives of the two owners.

Good job the wives weren't called Penny and Isabel.

The 55inch one is available for £299 in-store only. Anyone know how it compares with Toshiba 55vl3a63db.

I posted that too. Hisense is In a different league. Even the 6200 model it replaced was pretty good for the money.
TVs quick summary.
Budget. Hisense the best.
Midrange. Philips 6000/7000 ambilight series the best.
High end. LG OLED, Samsung QLED the best.

The Hisense is way much better.

You do realise to hold any sense of dignity or respect in modern Britain your livng room needs to be adorned with at least a 65 inch TV.
Anything else is just uncivilised & uncouth.
would be better if it was sony!
I wouldn't touch this but Hisense are definitely up and coming, they were like LG about 14 yrs ago but moving quicker, in 2 yrs Hisense will be a bigger player and considered more of a brand than budget

Hisense are like the Xiaomi of TV's. Good quality at a fraction of flagship price.

That’s a SD input. I do find it has little shadows on certain whites. But if you want a cheap big telly it’s spot on. I think I paid just over £400 on one of them 20% off eBay deals.

I purchased the 50" Linsar for my mum, and a HiSense for myself for the same money. There is no discernable difference between the two other than mine is a smart TV - ie connects to the internet.

in terms of image quality and features there is no noticeable difference between the two. I'd be happy with either for the price paid.

Toshiba is owned by Hisense, however their TVs are/were made by Vestel. So the Toshiba is no better than this Linsar.

My friend bought a 55 inch Samsung from John Lewis for £389! Is this any good as I’m really interested.
Anyone know how to find out or what the input latency is? Mostly use my current tv for gaming and the latency is a ball ache.

Tosh doesn’t really exist as a brand in the UK anymore - their TVs are all made by budget brand Vestel - to the same kind of specifications that JVC and Technika are. Budget, own-brand-level stuff that isn’t worth the money

Your Samsung is a good deal. The quality of the best TVs - Sony, LG and Samsung is better than these - but they cost at least 3 to 4 times as much.

But Toshiba TVs aren't expensive though. I bought a 43" Toshiba smart TV for £200 from Costco last summer and I absolutely love it, it's picture quality is way better than the LG I had before. The fact that it's made by Vestel doesn't bother me at all, I have no problem with it coming out of the same factory as those other brands. What I do object to though if people claiming the brand is " " when it isn't. I'm not suggesting that they make the best TVs in the sector but I think it's nonsense to claim that they are rubbish, they make sets that are perfectly good for many people and can offer some nice value for money especially if you can find them at a good price.

Personally (and we are talking about personal taste here, so I recognise and respect that yours differs from mine), I’d much rather save the money and spend it on a better TV than spend very little on a low-end one. I used to have Toshiba TVs quite regularly and, like you, was perfectly happy with them - until one day I had the misfortune of seeing a side-by-side demo of the same content on mine and a more capable model. That ruined entry-level TVs for me for life.

What I object to is companies trading on the past glories of what were once powerhouses, so customers often don’t realise that, for example, JVC, Sharp and Toshiba don’t actually make TVs and often think they’re still a decent contender - or that a JVC remote usually works perfectly well with an entry-level Panasonic because even they are made by Vestel these days. It seems like rather a bait-and-switch con to me.

That said, I’m glad to hear you’re happy with your telly and hope you continue to be!
I couldn’t live with the poor picture quality and got rid of the tv after 1 week. Best part of the tv was the roku stick which I kept
roku smart stick £50 value ? really?
