My partner bought me this for £300 and already it's down to £258. First ever bridge camera and very impressed. Was on the London eye and manages to zoom onto a building in Croydon which was 10 miles away.

Linux? It's a Lumix.
Also, it's not a DSLR.
Thanks for posting and the user pictures too
The Panasonics are great 🏻
Lol thanks for the comments guys. It's my first ever camera. I took out DSLR and replaced it with bridge to be on the safe side. Still new to this camera hobby and learning every day. I only received it yesterday

I'm sure this has been £200 in the past, on more than one occasion, from more than one retailer.

I know we don't have time machines, but the point is that it seems likely it'll drop again.
Even tried the moon
38459781-4pihc.jpgHope this gives you guys a rough idea on the capability. Can also control the camera from your phone too.

£180 6 months ago at Costco.
£209 11 months ago on Amazon.
I have this camera bought refurbished from official Panasonic outlet on ebay for £129.99 (as new condition looks unused), they come up on there regularly but sell very quickly. In my opinion it's ok but not worth more than £200. Not impressed with jpegs from camera, and if you shoot RAW, as I do, either use the Silkypix software or make sure you have compatible lens correction plugin in your editing software.
I hope you enjoy your camera - it's going to give you 'GAS'* though and you'll find yourself in a year or two keeping an eye on this site for bargains on your next camera!

Thank you for sharing your photos - looks like you had a great time!

What on earth do you expect from a relatively inexpensive piece of kit? Considering that it appears that most people are happy just to wave around their phone and hope for the best, this is I feel most certainly a large step up from that.

Also suggest that most people are interested in producing a picture that, if they print it, will make a good 5x7 or maybe A4 print. This camera is certainly up to that job and a lot more.

For what I paid I am happy with the camera and of the 500 images taken since I bought it some are very good. However if I had spent £270 I would have bought something better.
I have this, the zoom is great and when you get used to it you can get some good shots. This was taken at Oulton park last weekend from a fair distance away:

It is all about the zoom though, at the expense perhaps of other qualities. I got it on refurb, and while it has it';s uses I stiull mainly use my phone (p20 pro) as it's always on me. On a recent 2 week holiday I took about 500 on this and about 2500 on the phone!
Great circuit Oulton.one from 2016 with my now 6 year old Sony hx10v compact

this is pretty much the last camera you should consider for that
what use is 60x zoom indoors? THAT is the point of the camera
if you dont need it then you are getting a small sensor, slow lens and large body for no reason

WOW. Really clear shots. Is that with a different camera or the same one in the link? I need to learn on how to get fast moving shots without blur. I think I need to use the 4K burst mode

That was using 4k burst, and even then horizontal movement was hard to capture without blur as they're so damn fast. Considering the distance I was at though I was happy with the results. The shot I posted was at almost full zoom, and yes this camera.

Fantastic. Also did you use a tripod or was you just holding the camera using your hands? Impressive to know that it can do amazing shots like this

Handheld, I was in the stands so no room for a tripod. Be warned though at full zoom wobble is huge, my hands aren't that steady anyway, so 4k burst is essential for this sort of thing. Outdoors is fine, got some great scenery pics, but anything fast moving.....

Cheers mate. Still practising and my hands also wobble at max zoom too. Still figuring out what all the buttons do. But that's part of the fun
