I was searching for the monitor + Acer Revo one deal in my local Sainsbury Murrayfields in Edinburgh, when I came across a reduced to clear red sticker with the above tablet at the £40. It was in front of the display model, but I couldn't find any nearby. A shop assistant came by at the same time, and I asked him if they had any left. He grabbed the sticker and went out back and sadly came back with a negative answer. He wouldn't give me the sticker back for a picture either.

So no picture of the sticker and obviously didn't come away with a tablet, but it might be worth chasing (geese, maybe) in your local store.

It has been on sale for 159.95 previously and on offer for £79.50 about a month ago:

Flame away for this, but you might be lucky.

PS. I don't seem to be able to get instore Sainsbury's Murrayfield on the headline. Sorry.

Just called my other local Sainsbury's and they didn't have it either. But if anybody is near Kinross, then they have it there she said.

(No Acer Revo either, sadly)

So...no stock and no proof, so.....where's the deal.......

It has (obviously to me) been in my store and I have it from staff that it exists in Kinross. I don't really care much about imaginary internet points, but I like a good deal. I would have bought it, if it was in stock in my store - maybe it is in stock in yours or one nearby. As I said, it might be a wild goose chase, but it is a good deal if you can find it.

Yes, of course.
Still at £120 in Sainsburrys Cheltenham
I was walking past my local Bentley dealer today and there was a sign in the window advertising a new Continental GT for only £3.99. I went inside but the salesman said they had just sold the last one. Unfortunately he would not give me the sign, or let me take a photo of it, and I can't remember the address of the dealer or which town it was in so I don't have anything to verify the deal. It would be worth everyone searching around their local Bentley dealerships though, just in case they see any more in stock ...
This is the best wild goose chase of all time.

The one where even the OP couldn't get it, and the store's local so I don't even have to try.
no receipt, no proof - so no deal, i dont know why these are classed as deals as usually only the OP gets one!
Op's a reputable poster giving people a heads up, what's wrong with that? Too many grumps on here

I hope someone gets it or at least tries to call their local Sainsbury's to see if it was/is available.

As for the rest. I'd get the Bentley, but the iPad is still overpriced!
200degC + for a sticker on a shelf. Bravo OP.

there's no stock in Kinross - just been in - supervisor confirmed it's not on inventory there and hasn't been for over a month

It would be nice if someone got it. As said above, I was told by staff in a different store, that it was available at that price in Kinross, but nobody else seems to even attempt calling their stores.

What can I get for 200 internet degrees?

Not blaming you, it was worth going to check as it's my local store. They've obviously given you a bum steer though.
I posted a Tesco £20 Blu-Ray player deal on here some time ago, and was accused of all sorts of things. Being a Tesco employee was one of them, but over the course of 24 hours it was proven to be pretty much nationwide, and even the most vocal person dishing out the accusations managed to snag one himself in the end. People are generally treated quite poorly on here, it's a surprise that people ever come back!

Screw the Ipad I want some Tangy Toms now!!!
Here's how it works : it's a range change time in Sainsburys (and Tesco's). Some stores will not be selling some products after the change so they reduce them "to clear"- and staff will usually buy these for themselves - but still put the price tickets out as they're not supposed to do that. In other stores, where they will continue to sell the product after the change, the same product will stay at full price.
There's an iPad mini (16GB WiFi) reduction to 219 -> 150 -> and now 99.99 (I've seen the tickets out), but if you try and locate any stock you'd be out of luck.
Not voting either way purely for the effort but take these "reduced to clear" deals for what they are - a myth.
It's a genuine deal. Just out of the Kirkcaldy store, they sold the last 2 today Assistant said that didn't even know they were that price until they were scanned.

Cheers for taking both btw.....

Cold. This is about as real as the Bentley deal :-)
tangy toms sold aty local shop but are not the same as they were years ago
I will check this when the sainsbury's bloke calls me back on the Acer revo and monitor.
No, we're not lying. They had 2 in Kirkcaldy, they have sold them,

if you call any store and ask them to check the inventory price they'll tell you it's coming up £40

I think the OP deserves a bit of heat for finding this

I'd rather have the tablet.
When will this site ban wild goose chases? There should be a separate section at least.
I don't quite believe this... after 10 years of goose chasing oO

No units on display but there was one in the stock room. I think I may need a lay down now to recover.

Why shouldn't someone buy two tablets that were a good price? It's not like one person left with a trolley full for ebaying, two tablets isn't a lot for a family to own.

That's a rather impressive deal. I wonder if lambourghi would do a price match?
OP; "So no picture of the sticker and obviously didn't come away with a tablet"
I've probably missed the point here, but if £40 is a really hot price for this tablet and there was one on display, did you not try to buy it? It might have been minus its box, cables, whatever, but for £40...

Of course it might have needed the bar code on the box to do so, or even the PoS RTC sticker, but if you don't ask...
someone bought the last one right in my presence at the Lancaster branch. I managed to grab the acer revo nettop pc and monitor as a compensation tho
Has anyone bought this for £40? This seems to be a deal that no one (even the deal poster) can get!
