This has been mentioned at varying prices quite a lot over the last fortnight - it's been very popular - but I can't see an existing deal with the current price so just thought I'd raise it again.

Amazon have it back on at £129.99 - in stock tomorrow for dispatch.

Not sure how long it'll last - Amazon have been moving the price around a fair bit, but at £129 this is an EPIC deal for a full 10" Windows 10 tablet with a dockable keyboard.

Grab a deal while it is still cheap. When this first came out I thought it was a good deal at £189. £129 is a steal for anyone looking for decent tablet Christmas presents.

If you have any questions about the tablet itself, shout - I still have mine and use it almost daily!

Would this be ok for a kid who's just started secondary school instead of a laptop? Just for a bit of school work, browsing, streaming and movie playback?

Yes, ample. I think eventually they might want something a little more powerful for more serious work, but for the next 2 or 3 years it'll probably do more than they'll ever need. Perfectly capable of word processing, browsing, music, video etc. There are apps on the Windows store for Netflix and other streaming services.
I have a Surface Pro 4, tempted to order this to use when I don't want to take my £1000 tablet somewhere.

Thanks!

There are Windows store games you can get similar to the ones you'd get on an iPad. Full PC games very unlikely except the oldest of games like maybe Sims 2. Storage and RAM are your biggest issues there.

Actually, you can game very successfully on this
I had the (previous version) 10 and with a microSD card could play Shadowrun: Directors cut, Shank 2 (some slowdown), Bastion, Trine 1/2, CIV4 and 5
A lot of reviews state its not good for gaming which I don't understand.
Obviously it won't run GTA5, but yes it is good for gaming.

Oh and also Banner Saga, awesome game, runs awesome. Awesome

Very interesting feedback to know guys - thanks.
Probably the ONLY windows tablet ever posted on here which qualifies as usable. With 2 gig RAM and 32 gig HDD it will actually perform rather well.
Just received mine from the previous offer of £119.99 for keyboard and tablet. Cracking bit of kit, with a bright screen and very usable speed wise. Well worth the money IMO, and easy to throw in a bag, although it is reassuringly heavy for its size. Quality bit of kit.
How does this compare to an iPad 2? I was considering upgrading.
has anyone tried streaming the xbox one on this? just wondered how it ran. i have the linx vision and that is really good but only a 8 inch screen hence the question. the spec doesnt seem that different

It depends on what you're looking to use it for. The iPad 2 has a slightly better dimension screen for a tablet in my view. The DPI on the iPad 2 doesn't come close though.

Performance wise the Linx on paper is better. I would say more functionality is quicker - but it is a much newer device.

From experience, I'd choose the Linx - but that's because it is more practical and the keyboard makes typing so much easier.

i have streamed blackops 3. the first time i tried it there was jutterness and lag. however this was down to my crap router and the fact my son was on hos xbox eating up the wifi. i tried it later that night and it was smooth. just a bit difficult on a small screen but perfectly playable.

Definately. This has replaced my old noisey laptop. Love it! It has two usb sockets too for printing or other devices

I streamed Forza 6 to my linx8 tablet and with the 4 races I did it was lag free. I'm using a VM super hub 2 and got 100mb service. If my linx 8 tablet performed well then this will as its double the ram.
thanks for the replies
How quickly does it boot up?

Is it like my ipad which is instantly accessible or is there a lag time (like my pc booting up) before I can use it?

From cold about 30 seconds I'd say.
From sleep almost instantaneous. Not quite as quick as an iPad but pretty damn close.
How does the tablet side compare to the lenovo yoga 2 which is £120 at Amazon?

As a tablet on its own, which would be the better buy yoga 2 or linx 10?
Quick question please for those much cleverer than me..

This is this:
Lenovo S21e 11.6 inch Laptop Notebook (Silver) - (Intel Celeron N2840, 2Gb RAM, 32Gb eMMC, WLAN, BT, Camera, Integrated Graphics, Windows 10 Home Entry) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015Q27YX2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_PySywbMFXRC1B

Ignore price, I bought the Lenovo for £129 but may return it for this deal.. Depending on what you experts say!

The ONLY usable one? Wow. So more useful than a Surface Pro, a Dell Latitude, a Dell Venue, an HP Stream, a Chuwi with better specs, a Lenovo...

Wow. Just. Wow.
I bought mine on the last deal and absolutely amazed by it. Bearing in mind I have a top of the range MSI laptop I use normally, I am hard to impress!

Kids nowadays don't want a laptop, they want a tablet, this will be fine I'd say.

Yes microSD and the max is either 64GB OR 128GB - not entirely certain which off the top of my head
What's the difference between this and the original Linx 10 which is what I have? Also in terms of gaming I play GTA San Andreas on mine (windows store version) and it plays perfectly. I use the otg cable and an xbox controller and it's great.
Can you use it on a wired network or wifi only.

Better design, two full size USB ports so no more otg cable, better keyboard by a long shot.

Wireless only by default, you could get a cheap USB to Ethernet adapter if you need wired connectivity

In fairness to the original poster, i took it to mean that this deal is the first usable windows tablet/pc at the relatively cheap, low spec end of the market. Although for the tech savvy and adventurous types there are more powerful, better spec tablet/pc's appearing from chinese sourced brands such as Teclast, Chuwi, Cube and Onda some of which offer amazing value for money, albeit with inferior support and guarantees than we are accustomed to receiving in the uk. The Linx deal is a pretty good one IMO. Astonishing what you can get for not much money these days.

Cheers, not enough for me to change from the original. Hopefully Linx carry on going with development and improvements as I really like my original model and also picked up another on the Staples deal last Christmas for my Father who uses it all the time.

I do agree with you - as I put in my review there's little to justify upgrading from the original. The internal specs are almost identical so there'd be little point in upgrading.
