Popped into Sainsburys Hitchin today and saw this tablet reduced to clear at £59. It's well over £200 anywhere else. There is a slightly newer model (12X64) that goes for over £200 as well. I bought the only one on the shelf but hopefully other stores might have one?
I'm well pleased, I know its not a Surface but it's performing well so far and has a full size USB3 port

Do you have the receipt with the product number for Sainsbury as the one you have posted is just the product model which is used for other places such as Currys, tesco and soo on

How would this compare to an android tablet? Can you load Google play onto it? Only asking as I was looking at upgrading my kids tablets and this would be in budget.

Can't put Google play on it, it's a Windows machine.

You'd be better off with an Amazon tablet and putting the play store on that.

Performance-wise, this would would compete strongly against a lot of Android tablets (expecially at the lower end of the market). However, if your kids intended uses were mainly surfing, watching videos, and games, you may be better off sticking with Android. I would generally prefer a android tablet for basic use, but where a windows tablet comes into its own is when you want to do anything serious - Office apps, full windows programs, etc.
Give the OP a break, this is a blinding deal.
A great little machine for the price.

Was just chucking some packaging out when I noticed this on the outer cellophane I ripped off. Shows a SKU - should be helpful

This shelf price indicates that the full price is £79? I don't think you can expect much at this price point especially for 4gb ram?

TBH I would have snapped this up at £79! Feel free to list any other windows tablet with the same specs anywhere near this price

I don't have neither a windows or android tablet to suggest! In fact even for £100 plus, I can't find any stand out tablets! I'm still using a Hudl 2! Great screen and has served me well.

I'm currently looking for a replacement as I can't expect the Hudl 2 to go on forever! Bought the fire10 of the recent QVC offer. I don't know whether to keep it or return and get something else? The problem I face is that even though phones have progressed in terms of screen, battery, ram, storage etc but tablets seem to have stagnated.
my local sainsburys sold out of these 6 months ago when they were reduced to £159, would love one at this price.
Thanks for posting OP

Definitely agree that tablets seem to have stagnated. If it's not an iPad or Samsung tablet costing loads then the specs always seem poor value

£79 will be the last price the item was reduced to before they reduced to £59. They usually retail at over £200 and as someone mentioned Sainsburys only reduced them down to £159 last year. Also 4gb of ram is very good for a tablet a lot of those being sold only come with 2gb's of ram and 32gb of storage.

Actually that's not completely true. Bluestacks should run very well on this tablet and is a popular android emulator for windows allowing you to access play store and run android apps with little hassle.
Release the geese coated in lasagna sauce....

Top marks to op for helpfulness.
Called my local sainsbury and they only have 10 inch tablet in stock for £99. Think it's just a one off store
Not only has the op found a great deal, he's been as helpful as he possibly could be. I'd love to find one of these. Might go for a leisurely drive round this morning. Anyone have any good excuses to give the Mrs as to why we are doing a sainsburys whistle stop tour?! Heat added!
Great deal couldn't find it in mine but if anyone finds this in Northamptonshire let me know

pure android works on x86 if it's built for that CPU. It's just a bit behind. I think nougat is the latest version android-x86.org/

Anyone mind posting me one. Happy to give a good few quid for postage. Called most Sainsburys in Sheffield for one and no luck. Would like one for Uni.
Its every Sainsbury’s shop?
For anyone else in the South-West - nothing in Bodmin or Torpoint stores
@Kamil_Wolniak The member found this deal at the Hitchin store. Might be worth a check in your local.
Could someone pick one up and post it to me please?!

Bluestacks is certainly not very user friendly I found and I consider myself a techy so for anyone not even sure what they are buying I wouldn't recommend this. IIRC Bluestacks shows as rooted so some apps don't work.n

Checked my local stores and non available. They have availability in Andover if it helps anybody.

I've had the original Linx 8 since release. Still going strong running Windows 10 and MS Office on 1GB memory with 64GB card. Hope that helps regarding the quality of these products.
