Weren't Amazon selling these last month for £129.97?
Edited by: "rav4cas" 9th Feb
Unless you need the touch screen, I implore you to look at the fivetech/geobook laptops instead much faster and far better quality screen
Any reason why I should choose this over a chrome book ? Not knocking the deal... I voted hot... apart from different OS... I would just use it for web, YouTube, email etc...

2nd that
Don’t buy linx. I bought two laptops October 2018 both failed just out of warranty (December 2019) which I found strange. completely dead, I stripped them down and found no problem with ether, later found out a combination of button presses and power brought them back to life with no issues.
The conspiracy theorist in me says they have some form of timed failure built in and looking on eBay found many others with the same issue. I will never buy linx again.

These have a PROPER lifespan of their veryyyyyy OWN like, WOW!.

Only Apple product's going back donkey Year's honestly hold their values like this?, AND for that long too, etc etc etc.

As you genuinely wouldn't think it, would you?, lol.

After all, a Microsoft Surface 4 Pro, wouldn't be in anyyyyyyway expected to demand the almost £1000 price tag (Today!), that it demanded for itself only 2.5 Year's back even?.

But this is easily 4+ Year's or so old now right?, hehehehehe, but yet ...

AND it's a Windows product too?!, looooool, not bad going that, huh?. :-D

WOW!!, that's interesting ...

Let's just say I have a few of these LINX tablet thing's from a while back - and in various sizes too (8 inch, 10 inch, and 12.5 inch).

So let's just say I'll be CLOSELY watching for the inevitable (based upon what you're saying there above, etc?).

Let's just say, it indirectly explains a few wee thing's I had on my 8 inch one some Year's back, and on one of my 10 inch one's a few Year's as well too, or whatever?.

And eBay made you aware of other people similar LINX 'issues' you say?, lol (I'd have been more inclined to have assumed Google might have instead, or something?, but it's cool, lol). :-)

For your basic usage scenario's, I'd personally say the OP's Deal instead. :-)

As it's Windows based, it therefore obviously has wayyyyy more future scope to it for later, etc? (than that of just Chrome OS alone, or something?).

But that's just me. :-)

Unless of course newer/superior hardware may be your thing?, then a more modern Chromebook might just outperform the OP's LINX Deal instead, lol.

Ao, the choice is yours basically?. :-D

Much appreciated, and you're most welcome also. :-)

That's kind of what this site is about after all?, lol, so yeh, no big. :-D
Whatever you do do not buy this from this seller. They are scam artists reselling faulty linx tablets. I have an ongoing case though the small claims court with this bunch of Muppets. This cannot charge itself as fast as it uses battery power. Totally useless unless you are happy with 24hrs to charge it and one hours use. Stay clear

It's purely a horse's for courses thing, this one, of think?.

I have this LINX 12 hybrid, bought via a different seller, and bought a wee while back too, or whatever.

And so far so good, etc.

But thanx for that head's up anyway. :-)

No this seller is rogue and should be pulled from the site.

Ive had a couple of these Linx devices and had no issues - I even managed to get them to run software that it shouldnt have been able to cope due to RAM and processor and it coped no problem.

They have 91% positive feedback from nearly 9000 reviews. They're not perfect but that's still pretty decent.

haha nothing dodge, just IT troubleshooting software that required a tougher spec
Was tempted to buy one of these last year but all the negativity put me right off.
Have a Linx 10 tablet which I bought at the end of 2014 and still works ok,
Only problem is it's 32gb, and Windows updates were becoming a pain and wanted something a bit quicker and better screen.
Ended up getting the new Fire HD10 32gb for £99.99 which am happy with.(apart from every time you charge it from off, it switches itself on!)
Wouldn’t touch these with a 10 foot barge poll!

Purchased one a couple of years ago and it was awfully slow and buggy.

I must be in that 10% of customers that get ripped off by them. Total liars when you have a problem and have a blatant disregard for consumer rights and even amazon policy. The Amazon CS just follow a script and say contact the seller, the seller says contact the manufacturer, manufacturer won't give me a refund! They are just shipping out faulty laptops and passing the buck onto the manufacturer. You have been warned but hey, take the chance, by the way I paid £129.99 for it almost 12 months ago.
I've reported this seller numerous times to HUKD but they still keep popping up.
I've got no reason to make it up! I just want to point out the endless hours of stress you will have if you have a problem.
When Amazon said to contact the seller, did you ever go back to Amazon saying that the seller is fobbing you off and not following Amazon's policy?

Gah. Sorry you've had to go through that.

I sell on Amazon, and I feel that I have to jump though hoops if a customer isn't happy. I once sold a PS4 game and the customer decided to return it after 30 days. They could have just completed it and then decided to pull a fast one by returning it. Obviously I initially refused to entertain it, but they went crying to Amazon, who said that if I don't accept the return, they would just refund them anyway and charge me for it.

So I know that Amazon can put pressure on sellers if you scream and shout at them enough.

Arh that's the problem with my purchase. I bought it in Jan charged it and installed my sons account, put it back in the box after checking it all worked and waited for his birthday which was 5 weeks away. It was only when he used it for more than one hour the overheating battery and charging problems became apparent, it got soo hot the screen flickered. I seriously believe this seller is an offshoot of amazon themselves and they are trying to shift a huge batch of dodgy linx tablets. I'm a good customer with Amazon, last time I requested my data which was about two years ago I had spent £18k with them.

Not quite eBay making me aware of issues. I was using mine for light office work So had about 2/3 hours a week use the second was my sons and he used it constantly, both failed within 2 weeks of each other. I really like the laptop and was browsing eBay for a replacement and found a lot to be listed as faulty with the same issue as the pair of ours.
You also just reminded me I also have a linx 7 windows tablet that failed but that was years ago, must dig it out and see if that can be revived.

Ew.
I owned one of these for like 6 months, regretted that purchase
Cost me £80something from one of the deals posted here
It ran awfully and the product was just awful
