Not seen many offers on these recently, decent machine for the money. At 12.5" it's a quite a nice size with a 1080p res screen. Runs Windows 10 and comes with keyboard cover. There's also a free Bullguard 1 year sub.

Delivery is free on 2-4 working days

It's a decent machine. I had one for about 2 days and it just bricked. I'm tempted to give it another punt tho. Nothing really close to this spec for the money.
Anyway of using this with the keyboard and the screen in portrait?

How was it "bricked"?
It just stopped turning on. Was working perfectly. Done windows updates over night and in the morning it was a brick.
Just helped a friend sort one of these out after Windows Update - lost all the settings for some reason - but no worse than that. Quite impressed with this - user is not computer literate and is happy with the touch-screen for checking email and browsing.

That sounds like a Microsoft issue rather than the Linx. I've heard from multiple sources that their recent updates have been bricking machines left right and centre. My daughter's laptop failed to update correctly and had to be reformatted to get it back to life. A work colleague had a similar experience.
I have one of these machines and it is great value for money. It is surprisingly quick for the grade of processor as well.
I would not buy one of these, they are slow. Windows OS is not a nice OS for a tablet. Fire HD 10 tablet is the best for that price.

Yeah I know. Microsoft updates have been playing hell lately. My friends laptop didn't agree with the updates either.

I bought my 12x64 direct from Microsoft. When I rang them about it and told them what happened they didn't try to get me to trouble shoot it over the phone like they normally do. It must be a well known issue.

I agree it's a cracking device and plenty fast for what it is. It's a shame I had to send mine back. The only bad point was the weight of it. I didn't mine as it was going to primarily be used at home. But for the money it's an excellent deal.

I just bought 2 4k computer monitors. Just trying to figure out if i will survive the beating off my wife to use the 12x64 if i bought one. Hmn..

I've been running Windows 10 on my Dell Venue 8 Pro for ages, and it's great!

Hmm.. you can't attach the keyboard in portrait mode. So stop giving advice when you don't know lol.

No, keyboard clicks in landscape only. You can either use onscreen keyboard or buy a Bluetooth one. Cheap enough.

You click in the keyboard on a linx 12x64 onto a side that has no contacts for the keyboard is it? It's not a wireless keyboard. The keyboard needs to "plug in" to the tablet for it to work. There are no contact's on the portrait side on this tablet.

Jesus Christ.

I don't usually correct people. But if someone bought this because of your comment on using this tablet with the keyboard attached in portrait, then that's not fair on them. Don't give advise when you definitively do not know.

No hard feelings. Live and learn.

No you can not.
I was lying in bed laying an egg. I definitely wasn't using my Linx 12x64 keyboard and screen in portrait orientation.

Last time I read the Bible, I thought Jesus was more of an Apple man. Or maybe that was Adam....
He definitely preferred to work in landscape though.

Bricked mine messing with the bios, contacted manufacture and they sent me a new 12V64 upgrade version {didn't tell them I was messing with it}

The Fire 10 is worst buy I've ever made. They're awful. It's messy to get half the stuff you can one-click install on Android (despite it being Android, Amazon use their own terribly organised appstore) and the screen is far too glossy.

If anything, people should opt for a cheap Android tablet, but a Windows one will be far more flexible than Amazon's.

Adam was definitely the first Apple fanboy.
I have the Linx7 with Windows 10, it is the worst gadget I've ever owned. Windows on a tablet is slow and frustrating to use. The touch screen is unresponsive, basic apps like YouTube aren't available.

I had a Linx 8 for 2 years until battery totally died (started to hold less and less charge after 1.5 years) But a Linx 10 is coming up to 2 years, and still going strong.

Is there much difference between the x64 and the v64?

I don't suppose you know if they use the same keyboard?
Its seems a little faster and stable. I quite like it and its become my go to device for most things. My daughter has a surface pro the difference is deffinatly not worth the money.

Yes there is a different between the x64 and the V64, but it's nominal (depending how you look at it ... )

One has a purely metal body (and is silver in colour), whereas the other has a purely plastic body (and is black in colour).

So in theory, one of those same 2 would be a bit sturdier than the other (though I don't recall which is which).

And they both use a black plastic keyboard too I believe?.

Well, that's the physical exterior out the way ...

Internally now, one uses a Z8300 chipset, whereas the other uses a Z8500 chipset.

But again, I don't recall which of the Model numbers is which ...

What I do remember though is this, the one that comes with the metal body has the higher chipset within it.

I hope that that helps a little?. :-)

**** Edit. ****

I'm thinking it's rather the other way round now?.

Eg. the Linx 12 with the plastic body is the one that has the slightly higher chipset?.

It's been the best part of more than 6 months+ now, since any of this was discussed (in any actual/real depth, etc?) via earlier HUKD Thread's - on account of withers earlier Postings ...

Either way, here's a few link's that may also help a wee little:

The 12x64 is the one with a metal body and slightly faster cpu. It is a fair size tablet though and quite heavy, so I'd worry about the flexing on the plastic body version. I've only used the X, so it's a bit of conjecture on my part (regarding the flex on V).
The X has more ram too.
