Resolution: 480 x 234

that is a poor resolution even for a 7" screen.just because something is cheap does not make it a good deal.there is no real point in having a digital photo frame if the quality is poor.spend a bit more money and get a higher resolution.

Great find, Edi. HOT.

I was planning to buy one for a long time...any other recommendations?

I agree now where are the posts for good quality screens - but cheap

Rubbish resolution but apparently it plays DivX. Bought 2, the kids can use them with headphones in the car on long journeys.

I bought a Sony DFP-D70.
Twice the price of this one , but 800x480 resolution which is what you need on a 7" frame.
The picture is excellent and well worth the money.

low res = nasty jaggedy lines within your photo's folks = "don't even fink abart it"

I got the "poor res" one for work desk.. from play the other day for 17.99..

Not bad if i do say so myself (for work)

Obviously would buy a better one for home..

Why you would want one at work is beyond me.

To look at family pictures maybe while sat at your desk?

I got all excited when I read hi-res screen then saw Resolution: 480 x 234, cheap it may be but you won't be happy with the picture quality.

I have a Digiview V801which has a 640x480 8" display and it's spot on, no stretching of picture, pin sharp display and best of all got it for £42.98 from Empire Direct Sept 08, plays MP3, AVI & MPG1 too. Was a bargain at the time as were over £100 elsewhere including Amazon. Can be got for £59.99 at ]Amazon now.

Go for the highest resolution you can afford and you won't be disapointed, assuming £22 isn't your max lol.

480x234 with 7" diagonal = 76 DPI (dots per inch)
640x480 with 8" diagonal = 100 DPI
My laptop screen:
1440x900 with 17" diagonal = 100 DPI

Not a HUGE difference (if you don't do the calculations then it sounds like it should be about double), and perfectly good enough to have sitting around somewhere if you're just going to glance at it from a distance usually, which how I use photo frames. Hot.

When the work really stink then you can yell at your kids at work.

It's not clear what the aspect ratio of the screen is.
If 4:3 that would make it 5.6" x 4.2" giving an xdpi of 86 and a ydpi of 56.
If 16:9 that would make it 6.1" x 3.4" giving an xdpi of 79 and a ydpi of 69.
So not that good, and of course the pixels are probably not square.

Will it playback mp4 (divx) at 25 and 30 fps and bit rates above 2000kbps ?

I hope this isn't like my frame - it's very particular about the divx resolution / format and you have to reformat anything you want to view before loading on the frame.

Don't have to with mine, just bung em on as they are

good price but this is 16:9 ratio whereas most digital cameras take 4:3 ratio pics so the pictures will be slightly stretched to fill the frame

Well its more 18.5:9 ratio. If your camera is 4:3 you could trim the edges down (240*234) and put two photos side by side.

Yeah if conversion is required then that's a pain. I guess it's not too bad if I have to convert a couple of movies before a trip but it'd be nice just to plug and play like the other frame Simate mentions. I'll report back when mine eventually gets here.

Mine came today bit worried about the negative comments but found it to very good plays MP3 ok through speakers or headphones no problems playing video clips i recoreded using my sandisk v-mate on sd card took some off the computer as well on to sd card and they played ok one was an episode of transformers. The intergangeable frames and remote are a bonus as for photos they play ok a lot better than i expected given all the negative reviews all in a hot deal from me for the price.
Nearly went for one of the other cheap frames but glad i waited for this one thanks.

ignore double post

Sadly now £29.98 (Save 1p off RRP of £29.99 !!!).

Just tested it and it will play high bit rate MP4 video and also xvid (screen quality for video looks just like watching a 7" portable dvd player).

Anyone figure out how to remove the "time" stamp that plays over the videos ( I can't find anyway to remove it) ?
