What happened? I've had my linx 10 for a year and its a strong as an ox

Got one of these when they were £40 - lovely device for the money, and well worth the money, even without the Office subscription and 1TB of cloud storage.

bricked a tablet, what that mean !!! heh ehe

better off with the 10 inch if your eyesight is not 100%

Was setting one of these up for my little boy for a Christmas present yesterday...
Notes for those interested:
Yes, Windows 10 does go on, with a little faff.
- when you first log in, it'll offer to upgrade straight away to Win10... Decline it. The tablet is still doing loads of updates, and it simply won't complete the update. Let the tablet complete ALL windows updates first, then manually update by using the web page (which I've forgotten, just search for it, 'install windows 10')

Once updated, I had problems with the auto rotate. It didn't work. Everything else was fine, but the auto rotate didn't work. I found a web page that described a solution of installing drivers for missing (and unlisted...) devices, and editing the registry.
- Once I'd installed the drivers, rotate DID work, but screen orientation was out by 90 degrees. This is what the registry hack is meant to fix. However, the registry hack as listed wouldn't work for me. Another little search found a registry patch, which DID work.

Tablet is now running W10 without the need for a dongle or usb drive. 1gb ram and 32gb of storage is enough to get going

I'll see if I can find the pages I used later today...

I'm about to get this … I'm about to get this one:http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/bush-eluma-b1-8-ips-quad-core-2gb-ram-32gb-windows-8-1-tablet-59-99-argos-argos-2347393Which one is better?

I've had a 7" Linx for a year and it's been fine, battery life not brilliant 3 to 4 hours but enough to watch a movie and listen to music on a flight or train ( make sure you switch it off not sleep if leaving for a day or two as the battery runs down)
There are two major differences, from the specs the Bush one has 2gb ram and the Linx 1gb but the Linx works fine with just the 1gb and the Bush doesn't have HDMI output which the Linx does and I find useful to connect up to my tv.

Got one of these for £39.99 off ebay, well worth the money! Upgraded to windows 10 with no problems, and plays every game with no lag or delay! Well worth the money, however like others have said, I think this will drop again to sub £40 (_;)

This looks like the same deal as was going around last week:
hotukdeals.com/dea…506
The general opinion then was that this was a really good tablet for £40 (indeed every bit as good as an iPad mini costing 5 times as much). I bought one for that price a couple of weeks ago and agree it is excellent value. It upgraded itself to Win 10 with no problems and the free licence for Office 365 was a bonus (plus a spare licence for the Linx 101b I bought at the same time). I think I'd agree that the price is likely to drop back to £40 after Xmas, so wait to buy until then.

Yes, the Linx 1010b is a pretty good machine also, and not only because of the larger screen. I bought one for £120 a few weeks ago, it comes with a nice detachable keyboard/mouse pad and has a couple of full sized USB sockets and 2GB RAM. Both computers run Win 10 perfectly well and have a reasonable amount of storage left (after deleting all the previous Windows version files) once set up; it is really cheap to upgrade the storage with a SD card (£3 for a 32GB card (Fleabay), a tenner for a 64GB (Argos, not really worth shopping around at that price)).

So you broke it because you didn't know what you were doing, and decided to return it and make Argos pay the cost?

Idiot.

Same price on amazon if you prefer (no tcb)

Would love to find out more - I installed Windows 10 and it's gone on fine, and the auto rotate works kind of - but apps like the app store don't maximise properly after a rotate, and it's pretty tiresome.

Mine was fine for about a month and now..
It has problems with hdmi output, mine no longer will output to hdmi and it's only 2 months old. Others on linx forum report the same across all sizes of these tablets and there doesn't appear to be a fix.

When it boots up I see the linx logo on the screen, but after that it stubbornly refuses to output to hdmi anymore.
