Good deal, I have one and although apps are limited a very useable tablet
Good luck.. I have never seen linx 8 in Cheltenham Sainsbury..
Apps are limited? Ha, ha! There's got to be billions of windows .exe programs available.

This is a full windows operating system, runs anything a PC can (subject to hardware limitations). It even comes with a year of Office 365, the full blown productivity suite used by most businesses and educational establishments.

Apps are limited? What a joke.

Good deal with the office subscription (primary reason I bought it at the time). I bought one last year. upgrading to windows 10 is a mistake though. I cant really use it now. constantly lags, freezes, crashes etc. Had same issue with the linx7 too. Ended up getting rid of them when I got an xbox one and replacing with with an 8" Bush tablet. Cost a tenner more than this but has 2 gig ram which really made a huge difference! Really wanted a reliable way to use the game streaming :P

Then you can also argue that an android tablet has no access to windows executables, steam games etc...
has this got the 2gb ram

id swop in my linx 10 if it did I think
scrub that , question answered

1gb RAM
Great lil tablet, got it off eBay a while back on another deal but mine didn't have office. Smooth usable tablet, very functional, although admittedly an extra gb of RAM would go a long way
Whats its specs ?
If this was available few days earlier I could of taken by Acer W4 back that I bought for £100
Might make a nice controller for Sonos, Installing the Sonos Desktop Controller (.exe)
Cracking deal
I think it would have been better with a 4:3 screen, but still a good tablet.

You could go mental and Google it. Wacky idea, I know...
Had one of these. Screen far too small for windows 10 and sold on eBay at a loss.

You didn't try hard enough to find a solution ;).

1. Set tablet mode as default
2. If you want to use the desktop, install touch mouse pointer http://www.lovesummertrue.com/touchmousepointer/en-us/
3. If you still aren't happy, increase the scaling to 125%

8" screen size is fine for Windows 10
I upgraded mine to W10 with no problems whatsoever.
It's a great piece of kit.
I don't know what the no apps complaint was about!

Yeh, it's limited to any computer program released in the last 20+ years.
Just seen them in Kimberley, Nottinghamshire store.
Just bought it aswell excellent price I also have the 10"
Does anyone know, is this the Linx 810 or the older Win8.1 version Tablet?

No. Its the older one. Specs are almost identical except the 810 has windows 10 preinstalled and I don't think the 810 has an office 365 subscription.
What Sainsbury's did you see these see/find these at OP?.

Or is this a National Deal?, thanx. :-)
Can this run championship manager 01/02?

I bought mine in the Taplow branch. They had 3 left. Others have seen them at other branches, so it's National but instore only
The kids have the 10" version, very good tablet, runs full windows and when one of them got an error on the system we contacted Linx and they collected it by courier and replaced it for a new one. Cant fault them.

So basically a year's Office 365 with a free tablet thrown in. Sounds good!
How do this compare with nexus 7 32gb 2nd gen
Thanks

Compares like Apples vs Pears. One is Android, the other Windows. Specs aren't comparable
One has a back catalogue of Windows Apps, the other a current catalogue of Android based apps.
One is 8 inch, the other is 7 inch
both have 32GB Storage
Other than that, couldn't say much else.

TRUE! .. though in all fairness I CAN'T STAND this Office 365 'Subscription' rubbish currently been pushed out of late?, I mean ..... (considering that the BULK of us are 'Home Users' & NOT 'Business Users' at that?, so what gives ..... ) :-(

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh well?.

A gooooood Deal however, lol. :-)

Well, lucky that 'basic' Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) have free versions on Windows 10 for <10inch devices.
So - you don't need a full 365 for basic 'home' stuff anyway...

This be a wholllllllllle DIFFERENT 'Animal'? .. the Nexus you speak of has a purely 'Android-Engine', whereas the OP's Deal has a 'Windows-Engine'?, so first & formost, that for a start is pre-dominantly the MAIN 'differences' between these 2 'Beasts' lol. :-)

So with that in mind the 'Hardware' that basically then fires them to their 'fullest' (so to speak?) would then reflect that?.

Generally speaking, the Android Platform from the off (from what I've personally observed anyway?) has a much lower Hardware Requirement 'Footprint' to that of what I've observed of similar equivalents of that of pre-dominantly Windows Based Platforms?.

So with one of the rarer exceptions on ANYTHING 'Nexus' (Tablet, Phone, etc?), Windows Tablets, Phones etc SHOULD in theory outperform that of its Android equivalents? (thats the 'theory' anyway?), but of late with more Hardware Manufacturers & the like all jumping ship to the freely available Android OS the opposite is fast now proving to be the case a bit now? (eg. Lenovo making both Android Tablets & Windows Tablets, Acer making both Android & Windows Tablets, & ..... doesn't help you none, huh?, lol)

I think the real one for you is 'Andorid'?, or 'Windows'?, which one are u, &/or which one do u think you'd be more comfortable with, etc?, your choices beyond that could then prove itself to be second nature?.

Hopefully this helps a wee little with your initial question?, hehehe. :-)

Glad to hear it!, hehehehehe (I'm not on Windows 10 at present, so can't comment to tough on your initial comment either way so much?, lol).

But the 'Office' in Windows 10 you speak of, is that the former 'generic' 60 Day-Trail Version of the FULL Office Packages of many moons gone by? (eg. Office Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007, etc, etc?), or ..... lol.

Thanx. :-)
