It's a good price but I struggled to keep Windows in check on my 32gb tablet, let alone 16gb oO
First look at the Linx Light (1010L) linxtablet.co.uk/vie…450 - though I think you have to be a member to view pics!

I'm sure there was a more in-depth thread about doing big Windows updates/storage workarounds, I'll keep looking linxtablet.co.uk/vie…824

Anyone advise?

Honestly give this a miss. The 16gb of internal storage will quickly become a royal pain even for light users due to the wonders of Windows. I'd be looking for a 32gb system as a minimum starting point.
i can get a 128gb micro sd card for this. prices for card seem to vary from about 5quid to 30 quid. can someone advise reason for this and best option. cheers.

£5 is going to be a fake, buy branded from a reputable dealer is the advise not from some dodgy person on ebay

The chuwi is the better of the three when you look at hardware but if you plan to import it, you have the risk of it failing with little support.

Otherwise get the archos

You could move the windows update folder to an external card, so long as you know you're never going to remove it. Makes things a little easier to manage.
We have a windows tab with 16gb storage and an sd card. Unfortunately as Dropbox won't let you move your folder to it, this hasn't helped much. Still great for its purpose but storage can be a pain

micro SD and devices internal electronic storage are different in the all important 4k Read/Write, e.g. with my tablet's internal eMMC storage 4k reads 16MB/s 4k writes 5.1MB/s; 4K QD32 reads 53MB/s and write 7MB/s. You will find it only a few SD Card will have this sort of 4k read write performance. So I would recommend getting an SD Card with as fast 4k read writes and I have posted quite a few benckmarks with pics for at least a couple 128GB SD here on this forum, one is an Integral 64GB with 90MB/s sequential read with fairly decent 4k read write, also a 128GB Toshiba Exceria but this one had poor 4k read writes, plus a Sandisk Ultra 128GB (all micro sizes for tablets and smartphones).

You can do this, it took me 5-10 mins to follow the instructions but I now have a 64gb sd card in my Linx that holds all my Dropbox files.

You need to mount the SD card as an internal drive, it's pretty straight forward, Google "mount sd card" and there will be multiple results to guide you!
We got this from Sainsobs for 49, works great with windows 10, full size usb very useful.
Screen resolution is not brilliant considering the size of the tablet.

It's not impressive but acceptable for the price. I use mine for web browsing, Pinball FX and Foobar. The headphone output is awful but thanks to the full size USB it can power my external DAC.

Yes just what I was thinking I don't know how you cope with windows 10 on 16gb. I have a lenovo yoga 300 that came with 32gb and with all the windows updates and stuff it was shrinking fast. Luckily I tracked down a cable ( a mission in itself as they are not standard size) and there was a space for an ssd drive so I put 240gb in and now its great.

made me swear never to buy something with windows 10 on again though unless it has at least 64gb and preferably 128GB

I put it in the tag, to be honest I was running around so much last night I didn't get time to edit the description properly - the details were as 3monkeys listed them!

Wish the key board and office 365 came with it. Otherwise another 100 quid to spend.
Anyone got Lubuntu working on this?
Seriously DO NOT bother with 3monkeys on eBay. We ordered 3 of these a few weeks ago and two were faulty. Sent them back and received two more faulty devices.
When I questioned it, the company said that all there tablets are refurbished and they cannot control how many faulty ones they have.
Ended up taking ages to get a refund too.

Don't bother with this company is my advice.

Sorry pal. I didn't mean to sound like I was blaming you. The actual website doesn't display the model which is annoying because performance varies wildly with the new cherry trails.
would not reccomend such a small hard drive!!! my Linx tablet is the same or similar model to this one, but the 20gb hard drive is nothing considering I put real PC apps onto it.

It's okay Personally I would be wary of buying it myself, as I'm not sure I'd be able to workaround the 16GB memory, or whether it would cause problems as I add more and more Updates (though I can see people saying they simply used an OTG cable and pen drive for big Windows Updates).

I've added my MicroSD as an additional drive on my Linx 10 (original 32GB) - I have probably about 20GBs worth of books on it so far!

Can anyone who has one of these clarify the max SD card capacity on these as the instruction manual from Lynx states the max supported SD/SDHC/SDXC supported is up to 32 Gb

I have a Samsung 128GB EVO MicroSD card and it works just fine - I have the original Linx 10 (32GB). Confirmed working on the 1010, 810, even the Linx 7, 8, 10!

It's worth bearing in mind that the "maximum supported SD card" in documentation generally is the one most widely available at the time of release - and can change.

Also, I posted this a while back linxtablet.co.uk/vie…8gb

One for those nervous about more complicated tweaks.
