Been wanting to rebuy this for awhile (especially with the new DLC incoming) Great price!

Got it for free off PS Plus, but a great price. If I had the money I'd get it, as physical copies will always be superior to digital.

Free if you have PS+.

It's not really free it's more of a rental. If you ever stop paying for Playstation + you no longer own it. People should really think twice before they invest in PS+ because while it is a good deal while you have it, when you think "Is it worth me paying for another year?" you feel inclined too as you have hundreds of gigabites of free games that will all stop working if you don't, even though you don't play 95% of them.

They don't like my card

Cracking Price, just what I have been waiting for. These sell for a lot more on eBay!

I have been looking for good price on this for months, typical as soon as I buy it from hmv for £14.98 one gets posted

I think ps+ is great especially if you set it up to auto update games overnight etc also I tend do delete a game when completed so I personally would not have a catalogue of games om the HD and you can back-up your game save online. I picked the ps+ last christmas period at a discount

thanks - been looking for a good deal on this.

I'll happily pay £30 a year for all those rentals. Afterall, why would you want to play any of the games once you've finished them?

And for me its got nothing to do with the games. Its all about the automatic software updates, patches, downloads, system updates, and the automatic save games uploads to your own personal cloud space. I'd be lost without it. The plethora of freebies every month, which arent limited to just games, make it a fantastic service.

Far better than paying £30 for a years worth of Xbox Live which allows you access to a service which is free on every other platform, which also spams you with advertisements as soon as you boot up the console.

Instore as well.

I too paid £24 for 2 years of xbox live. Fantastic service. Plus added benefit of not having your credit card details hacked into like on psn.

Believe me you don't have to preach the XBL is a waste of money thing to me, I argue this with a lot of my close friends all the time. However with PS+ other than the latest stack of games they have added, there hasn't really been that much that is noteworthy, all just poor titles that didn't sell well (again, other than their latest move offering LBP2 and the infamous series, but the rest are still naf. Warhammer 40K is a GoW rip off that done terribly, and that Oddworld game is horrible too). It's not worth paying that much every year for one or two decent games.

LBP2 doesn't exactly have much of very long singleplayer, it's all about the creation and going to different peoples levels which is endless, I've had a proper copy since release and play it at least once a month still, so the whole "won't play it once I've completed it" really doesn't apply to LBP2 as far as I am concerned. It's more a game you whip out when a few mates are over, definately a keeper and not a rental.

If you are a trophy ****, and you can stand playing terrible games just because they are "free" (free being as loosely as I can use it) then it's definitely for you. You compare it to XBL to (quite rightly) show that PS+ is far better than XBL - If I compare it to Steam sales and the amount I've been able to get some top quality titles for lately (Saints Row 3 £10, Driver SF £5, Portal 2 £5) then to me PS+ seems like a rip off too. Steam gives me cloud saves for free, and all the updates for my games happen automatically, and even before cloud saves its two clicks away to backup all of my game data onto another HDD.

Let's be honest, as a video games system it should have those features for free anyway, you shouldn't have to pay for a service for a pitiful 150MB cloud storage and for automatic updates.

where exactly? If it was £12 a year then I wouldn't argue the toss, but at the rrp of £40 its a bit steep considering 90% of the 'free' content is cheap, badly made games that have done so terribly they can afford to give them away for free with the slight hope that somebody somewhere will pay them for the DLC for it.

Good deal, the 1st one is one of the few games I ever finished.
Looking forward to have fun with this one and with the move too.
And at a bargain price.

For those getting a good deal on PS+, what is the best deal we can get there?
Actually looking for cheaper psn cards to pay less but having a hard time since I need that on euros as my account is french..

£7 new in Morrisons.

Whoooh another PS+ thread

It's called self control - if you don't want to renew there's no pressure to do so. Chances are you'll have exausted all the games you're given by then anyway. And sorry, I strongly disagree that PS+ has only offered value recently after they offered Infamous 2, LBP2 etc. I've only been a member for 3 months yet got Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Trine 2, Awesomenauts, Rock of Ages, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Virtua Fighter 5 Showdown, Catlevania Symphony of the Night and countless others. I've completed most and that list is FAR from stuff that is mediocre or doesn't sell.

I've deleted the ones I've completed and have no intention of playing again. That ensures that I have space for future games. If I ever feel the urge to play them again I can simply re-download them. I've spent countless MS points on games on XBLA that I haven't played for years. Just 5 XBLA games equates to a year of PS+ and I've gotten far more games to play already. PS+ might well be a glorified rental service, but it sure beats buying games individually for a lot more money when you can't get any of that money back. For just £35 a year I'll have played 120+ games and completed most. That's **** loads of value compared to paying taxes for Xbox Live.

MS seriously have to up their game next gen if they think they can charge for online again without any added incentives. I've been a paying member for over 5 years now and got nothing but online play. Compared to the insane amount of value PS+ offers it really is a rubbish service. Unless they up their game for their next console I'll be sticking with PlayStation.

Indeed just names/emails and passwords but they were heavily encrypted. Theres no word they ever got un-encrpyted and even if they did people have changed passes long since then.

good price but free for those with ps+ and once you have platinumed it you wouldnt play it again anyway at least i havent, not interested in the dlc. its a big download though which is another reason why it will never be downloaded for me even though i ''own'' it.

Nice to see the uninformed masses are here. A lot of the games are new when given free on PS+, so how can they have "done terribly"?
Here's an interesting read for you, on the benefits for developers.

LOL most of the games? you mean all the crappy little minis, and terribly coded games like Hydrophobia? I'm sorry I must have missed them giving Journey away for free, or any of the Uncharted series. Until now the games have been 90% crap, and 10% good and TBH everyone who actually plays games on a PS3 will already own LBP2 so their recent line up of free games isn't all that great either IMO as I've already said Spacemarine is a bad Gears rip off and Infamous hasn't exactly been the strongest series.

Now take your article that was made this month when they suddenly turned around and improved PS+ and shove it up your ass mate - I couldn't care less about the "benefit for developers" I care about the money I'm spending and what I get out of it.

It's clear from this post that you don't actually know what you're talking about and have no idea what games have been given free on PS+
When you've stopped being an immature idiot, the point of the article was to show that developers/publishers decide to push for a free give away on Plus because it benefits them, sales of DLC or previous/future games.
As soon as you put "PS Plus is just a rental service" you proved your ignorance.

The main point is, PS Plus is an OPTION, if you don't want it or don't think it will benefit you, then you don't subscribe, simple as.
It's clear that you have no interest in LBP 2 which is what this deal is all about, so why don't you take your comments and clear off.
I assume you've never played Spacemarine or inFamous? I have.

I have no idea what games they are giving away for free, yet I've been a subscriber for the past year and mentioned the titles you just did and more in my previous posts? DERP.

LOL it's clear you have no interest in LBP2 rather promoting Playstation +. This is a deal for a game which I voted hot, to come in and find people saying "oh its free on PS+" as if that even matches up when the game is a RENTAL (even if you don't like to think of it as such, it is a rental) and this is to own a physical copy of the game.

Your argument in this thread is just as invalid as mine by your own analogy you tard.

I have played those games btw, and they both suck. In case you missed it up there, I described Space Marine as a Gears ripoff, and Infamous is another clone game - you can play Crackdown, Infamous and Prototype and they are essentially all the same game at heart. Free roam city, powers, kill things. Wow, I look forward to playing more games like that.

How about Magic 2012? Another game full of bugs that glitches out to the point where it defies the games own rules. Wow, it's stunning, I wonder why on earth they would give something like this away? Oh wait, they still aren't giving it to you though, are they?

PS+ is just a rental service. "OMG BUT WE GET AUTO UPDATES TOO!" yeah but just like XBL that is all stuff you should already be getting for free and if you can really sit there and say that you only pay for it for the cloud backup, auto updating etc. then you deserve as much of a slap all the idiots that pay to play their games online on an Xbox console.

I stand by what I started with - Little Big Planet 2 isn't a singleplayer, play once and delete kind of game. It's a fun multiplayer game with tonnes of replay value and it's one of those games that is a keeper and not a rental. So don't vote this down just because some idiots like to think that PS+ are giving this away for "free" because they aren't, they are renting it to you for your subscription costs.

There have been a couple of gems over the past year, but that is it - a couple, from a 12 month subscription. I certainly won't be resubscribing as most of the games they loaned were on sale a week later anyway and I'm sure from the few I actually enjoyed and played I could have spent less just buying those.

1. No, I love LBP 2 and own the Blu-Ray version.
2. I think if you look back at the original post, no one said not to buy the game, they just said it was free on ps plus.
3 inFamous and inFamous 2 are both really good, i wasn't sure at first, but really got into them.
4. Oddworld is a classic.
5. Didn't you get Plants vs Zombies, great game that sold a hell of a lot.

Might I suggest that you don't re-subscribe at the end of your 12 months, it seems like it's not for you.
IMO LBP2 and Uncharted 2 are the best games of this gen on ANY platform.

1. Good to hear, me too. Steelcase, I wanted the one with the bookends but alas...
2. I was pointing out that it wasn't free on PS+ it's a rental :P
3. I really did try with inFamous years back, but as I said after playing things like Crackdown and Prototype it was all just to the samey, and I swear those games all came out at like the same time too which didn't help as I am a bit of a new release **** (or I was..)
4. Oddworld Abe's Oddysee was a classic but that game was about as sophisticated as the LEGO games (don't even get me started there..lol) and considering how goddamn hard the original Oddworld games were I expected a bit more of a challenge.
5. Sadly when it came around I'd already completed it on several platforms lol however my girlfriend seemed to enjoy it a lot more on the Playstation.

I'd love to say I definitely won't but given what they said at E3 and in the article I'm half tempted to get 3 months and see what happens. It seems now they are putting some games on, but I can't help but feel it may be a trap to lure people into getting a year and then releasing reaaaaallllly bad games after a month or two. I have a month left, so we'll see what they offer next month and I'll go from there.

I also feel LBP + LBP2 (I have to include the first because it defined what I expect will eventually become a genre of gaming) and Uncharted 2 are some of the best games around. As I said back there somewhere at least once a month when we have a few friends round we get the game out just for **** and giggles and play through loads of new levels that people have created. We own 4 move controllers and a couple of nav controllers, and other than me playing with the sharpshooter (very, very occasionally lol it's so gimmicky) they only get used for LBP2 lol. Out of interest did you feel Uncharted 2 was better than 3 both story and multiplayer wise? lol Only ask cause you are the only other person than myself I know to say "Uncharted 2" rather than "Uncharted 3" when referencing the series and it's best game.

Just wanted to apologise for commenting on the deal and not the merits of PS+. I don't know what I was thinking...

lol agree to disagree on some aspects then
As for Uncharted
Uncharted 2 single player is unsurpassed imo, however I have more fun on UC3 multiplayer, I think that's to do with the extra modes that were DLC on UC2 (which are now free!)
I still play both multiplayers, but not had much time on the recently free DLC of UC2.
Maybe in a few months i'll change my mind. I never play competitive, only co-op, which on UC3 there seems to be more modes.
