I could do with something like this, but am I reading that right? "50 lm"? that equates to around a 1 Watt ordinary lamp output. Not even bright enough to light a shoe box. Anyone have one of these with more info?

I got one of these quite bright. I you want something serious Google solar street light, a lot of Chinese sellers putting in LifePO4 batteries and doppler radar sensors

Yeah, agreed, that 50lm can't be right can it?

Maybe it's a misprint, although seeing this video, I think it might be right!

These are not much use. We have one and the solar cell degrades with time anyway. Save your money! Cold.
I bought two last year.
Utter carp when working and both failed within two months......
thank you guys for the feedback. I stay away from them.

Did you get a refund under the 3 year warranty ?
not in the same price range I know, but I got one of these from costco 3+ years ago and its still going strong and lights up the garden well, I ended up buying another for the other end of the garden (100ft + long) so it's super bright

Don't bother with the Lidl one - waste of time. Poor light and motion detector failed within a few months.
I bought a couple of these. Very happy with them - different class entirely
