Global T20 Canada
FreeSports to broadcast the inaugural Global T20 Canada

FreeSports, the UK’s only free-to-air sports channel, has acquired exclusive UK rights for the Global T20 Canada 2018. Coverage of all 22 games will be available on Freeview (95), Sky (422), BT/TalkTalk (95), FreeSat (252) and online via the TVPlayer.

The coverage will begin live from Toronto, Canada on Thursday 28th June in the 7,000 capacity stadium Maple Leaf Cricket Club. This very first edition will feature six teams, namely Cricket West Indies Representative Team, Toronto Nationals, Montreal Tigers, Edmonton Royals, Vancouver Knights and the Winnipeg Hawks.

96 players will feature in the tournament including top international stars like Steve Smith, David Warner, Chris Gayle, Nikhil Dutta, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Chris Lynn and Luke Ronchi as the first Global T20 Canada Players Draft was conducted Sunday June 3rd.

The schedule includes matches spread across two rounds and playoffs. Matches in the first round, to be played from June 28 to July 8, will be in a round-robin format with each team playing every other team once, for a total of 15 matches. Through the first two rounds, teams will earn two points for a win and zero points for a loss. Only the top four teams advance to the playoffs beginning July 12th culminating in the final on July 15th.

I agree completely it is a fantastic channel.
Do not expect anything approaching quality cricket here. I watched the carribbean t20 tournament and it was bad. Spinners bowling repeated bouncers, pace bowlers barely reaching 77mph - The batting wasn't too bad however....

Cricket is game thats losing its appeal among youngsters. Without live England games being shown on free channels will hurt its foloowing in the future.
I was at one of the England 50 over games last week and all ages were there.

Yes it needs live terrestrial yet younger people take to the T20 format easy. A bit too easy maybe.
