Non Sky customers looking to take out this mobile deal please be careful...

The free unlimited calls and texts are only free for six months, but you will be signing up for a 12 month contract and after the six month free period is over you will be paying an extra £10 a month for the privilege of free calls and texts, meaning it costs £22 a month for this latter period!

This information is hidden away in very small writing when you click "learn more".

It is not stated anywhere when you click to buy and takes you to the basket to checkout. I think this is highly misleading by Sky as it allows you to buy without clicking on this "learn more" section.

I was so close to signing up to this deal, as Sky Mobile use O2, who have very good coverage where I live and work, and O2's own plans usually tend to be slightly more expensive than other operators.

Anyone give us a run through of how to get the 50% off marker on your account. Many thanks

If you take this out, do you know if you'll be able to use mix and get half price on the other packages. Certainly I can with the one I took out months ago with the 8 gig for £7.50. thanks

I get 15gb for £10... from Sky piggy bank use around half that a month rest rolls over, so when they try rip me off after year contract runs out, I’ll just lower it to cheaper pm and use my data I’ve saved. Sorted

Lol yeah might not be that pointless the delete button is there for a reason
Anyway can’t get this deal discounted but they offered me the £15 one 8gb for £7.50. Apparently you can change it l8r when you got the 50% marker on your account.
I don’t have any services with sky but used to have broadband with then.
It wasn't there earlier. You got 50% marker on your account. If so have you tried to change "online" to it . When you click it and do initial confirmation, offers like 50% is then taken into account so might be able to get it for £6 for 12gb data.

If after first confirmation the discount does not come up do not complete change over
Just to add to this WiFi calling now works on iPhone as of a recent carrier update.
I currently pay £4.50 for 2gb and don't use all that, but looked and i can have 12gb for £9 on my account

Annoyed that this wasn't available when I moved from Vodafone but confirm that it is now included:

Me too, I took that deal and just read thru 40 pages of t&c's with no mention of it only being free for 6 months
I have the 50% discount. I was paying £7.50 for the 8Gb mix. Just changed to the 12 GB mix my 50% off has carried over so now I pay £6 for 12Gb with unlimited calls. Well worth doing. and when my discount ends I will switch to cheapest mix and just use my data from piggy bank
Misslovely and al1son it used to be free for 6 months for non TV customers. But it now been given for free for non TV customers, instead TV customers get unlimited TV streaming of sky video content instead as a perk .

Did they only offer you the 8gb originally? That’s all they would offer me. Hoping to do the same as you changing the mix later and the 50% carrys over.
Also can people confirm that data runs monthly or when you activate the sim? Hate when data runs from say 7th to the 6th of the month. Would rather data refresh on the 1st of the month.

Decided at the time 8Gb was best deal but this is cheaper and more data.
The mix started straight away and added the extra data to my account. Also next month's bill will be only £4.50 as I'm part of the way into the billing month.

Does the billing and data refresh month run from the first to the first? They would only offer me the £15 one half price. Not a sky cust
Thanks for the heads up on the 50% option. I had 8GB for £5 per month with the 50% off offer and have just moved to 12GB for £6 per month so that when my 12 months is up I should have a massive piggybank of data and I can move on to a cheap/low GB tariff if a good deal is not available then.
I got this deal, quite impressed with the speed.

Can you help with how you got the half price deal please. What method of contact did you use?
Thanks in advance.
As a new customer i dont get half price. For info.
I've just taken out a new contract at 50% discount so it is possible. Got 2 gig for £3. Might be easier to get the 8 gig half price then change it. I did it through sales on the phone.

Need to keep trying, just depends on who you get through to. I got it agreed online chat, then had to get someone in sales to do in on the phone. It's the sales people who have the authority to do it.

One way is to go through broadband. Look up sky broadband and on the top right of this page there will be speech bubbles, click on that, get through to someone then they can get you through to the right people. Think the chat option is only available when the correct department is open so not sure it's there for mobiles after 8pm as that is when they close apparently. Either way the broadband route definitely works and they'll tell you if the others are open.

this is what i got told:
"50% off is on the second Sim plan for the existing customer"

so you have to have a sim first with sky and then taking another one will be half price

I called and asked for 2 extra sims on the 2GB plan, was offered them at £6 each. Mentioned that I know some friends that got offered better deals. The Sky rep could do absolutely nothing for me. Maybe I should try again at a different time. I really want 2 extra 2GB sims for £3 each.

Tend to find they won't apply the discount to what they Sean 'low price, high value' plans.

Remember once you obtain the discount on any plan then it can be moved over on your plan mix.

Might be worth trying for £7.50 (£15 before discount) for 8gb then changing plan on activation.

That may have more value as a new connection for the advisor, and therefore be more likely. Don't forget whilst they know the discount can carry over all plans is very unlikely they'll steer you in the direction of asking that question incase it comes back to bite them in the ass!

It does work if at first you don't succeed try try try again. I did, negotiated the above deal. Then changed it to 30gb for £12.50, got the first month, then down to 12 for £6 next month onwards.

Took delivery of the SIM yesterday and biking has already populated.

Be nice to sales advisor, get to the point quickly and if they still say no move on. Try again in an hour or so. What chat you use? I did mine through the text service.

3 separate online chats later, still no joy.

Told to call the values team, but just given a standard sky number. Will try this later
