This is the cheapest it's ever been: psprices.com/reg…ock

£6.39 for those without PS+.

I'm always on the lookout for good co-op games and this is pretty decent according to the reviews.

Anyone played it, was tempted but looks like a poor version of Alienation etc

According to totalbiscuit, not amazing, but solid, especially with friends/other players. For £3 it sounds like it's more than worth it.

Makes me more concerned about the player base now. Thanks for the effort though
Looks like something that will be on PS+ in a couple of months - especially with that discount.

Alienation vs Helldivers: which is better? (not considering the aerial view of helldivers as a possible minus)

I did enjoy the appreciate the addition of friendly fire in helldivers
adore helldivers, nothing beats your team getting through an intense firefight then call down an ammo drop while a teammate is not paying attention...

Verdict then? Trying to make up my mind to buy or not before the psn sale ends. I like alienation a lot and hoping i'd love helldivers too but i don't have a lot of friends to play with which is kinda putting me off...

Helldivers is more difficult than Alienation I'd say (especially if you mess up a strategem in a frantic situation ), but a load of fun, and there is a simple communication system so you don't even have to talk to randoms if you don't want to.
Alienation is more graphically impressive than Helldivers if that makes a difference.

Honestly though if you have enough credit, I'd say go for all three :).

not played the other two so can't speak for the best, plus it reads like they all have strong suits. i'll just leave you with the helldiver launch vid, channels the best bits of starship troopers. do be warned that later missions especially bosses and taking/defending capitols are very very hard but the game makes it's own stories on any difficulty (like the time the rest of my team didn't run fast enough after setting up a bug hive nuke...and while calling in a reinforcement drop i ran into a minefield i had set myself earlier...)
ACG gave it a Buy now

Livelock Review " Buy, Wait for Sale, Rent, Never Touch?"

Good review by Cosmic Engine...

Does look decent. Might invest.

Verdict then?

Well I've just purchased it so that's one person who'll be playing it at the very least.
It's a 14gb download
Big fan of these twin stick shooters. Loved Gauntlet, Dead nation, Alienation, Helldivers and now Livelock (hopefully).

Me too! Dead Nation was great and so was Alienation. Need to check out Gauntlet and this. Oh, then there's also Ruiner.

Looks great, bit short though. Apparently can be completed in about 5 hours.
For the £3 it's a great game so far, typical twin stick fair, had no problem joining games either
