Where does it say £40
Says save 1/3 to me, retail at £19.99 originally
Looks cheap n plastic

been previously £14.99

I have 2 of these in my house. They're not great if the light is used often. I have one on my landing and the droplets closer to the bulbs turn a yellow colour after it had been used a few times. And it does not clean off. It is a permanent change and does not look very nice. I am now looking to replace mine.

It was £40 originally, I know someone who has bought a couple of these and they are not cheap and plastic, please see reviews, you will pay a lot more for this kind of light elsewhere.

My daughter has got the clear crystal ones and are really nice, she paid 19.99 but that was a while ago. Great light fitting for 13.99.

Oh god, so funny X) X)

Cheap but for reason : Bulbs required 3 x 28W G9 halogen
Not really good for bigger rooms
But 14 quid is not bad for this

fitted three of these for a customer, look great, take forever and are a pain to assemble

Let there be light

reserved , many thanks !

When they originally came out they were £40, oh and you ought to put them up X)

I have one of these in my hall and there has been no discolouration (as suggested) and it still looks fab after 2 years.

These are (IMO) worth more then £40 so for £13 they're a steal.

Also easy to put up (if I can do it, really - anyone can).

Hot from me X)

they look great but pain to hang lolz

Just ordered two for collection. Exactly what I was after for my newly refurb bathroom. Txs for posting!

i bought 4 of these few months ago they are lovely very bright pic does not do them any justice

on first view of deal....looks great however....the picture is very misleading. ...this light is very small and not as it seems in the picture. ....cold

These are not safe for use in the majority of bathrooms.

So what defines the majority of bathrooms to be unsafe for these fittings please ?

You can replace the lights with LED a lot cheaper option electricity wise as well, although the initial outlay is more, they do look nice as well

I really can't accept the original price of £40. If that was the case, Argos would have been more than happy to show that price. The site shows a saving of 1/3 which would confirm the price of £19.99 which is shown as the original price.

Maybe this range is similar to the one OP recalls as being £40 originally?

Not sure if that is a serious question, but to answer your Q in the interests of safety: BS7671:2008 section 701-ish (can't remember exact section, and may have been updated). Most professional domestic electrical wholesalers have info on bathroom electrical "zones". Random example with pretty picture:
