Pretty great pasta sauces for if you're feeling lazy; usually retail around £1.79 each, so they're a bit of a bargain at a £1!

I don't know if this offer is available at all stores, but it was at my local Sainsbury's on Stratton Street/Berkeley Street, Mayfair.

Hope that this deal is of use to some people. :-)

do u remember what ones they had?

I know they had Tomato & Chilli, Tomato & Basil, Tomato & Roasted Garlic, Smoky Bacon & Puttanesca; those are the ones I picked up, so that's why I know the names. But, there may have been others that I didn't notice.

These are VERY bland

used the bolognese on as a "quick fix". Would have been better with a can of tomatoes.

Hugely disappointing.

Meh, fair enough - I've never tried to bolognese sauce, so I can't comment on it.

I still think that some of the sauces are pretty good, but I generally have them with something like stuffed ravioli or capelletti.

Regardless, they're a lot cheaper than what they usually sell for.

If u cant appreciate a good tomato and chilli ur taste buds have been wrecked by years of dolmio and ragu LOL deal is hot! Now the jamie oliver sauces they are disappointing better of with dolmio stir in :P

this is on at bedford store also. picked up a couple

Agree, These are really nice and alot better than Dolmio & Ragu, If your not a food snob then give them a try we mainly use them in the Lasagne or Bolognese.

I can confirm that the tomato and basil one is delcious

The thai green curry one is lovely

£1 in Mayfair lol what is the world coming to?

Good deal though.

This has been on for a while, my wife got some over a week ago, I didn't post it on here cos one of the pasta one's was disgusting, there was oil floating on top when I opened the jar which made the meal greasy and horrible. The rest of the jars went in the bin!

The Thai Green Curry one they do is actually quite good and it's included in the offer.

maybe try shaking before opening? you are right there is quite abit of oil in there but it just makes the flavour. LG are definatley the best pasta sauces around.

I agree. I've tried a few different ones, and to be honest supermarket value brands are better than these.

There Gross man.:)

These Lloyd Grossman sources are really nasty with a horrible chemical tangy taste. If Lloyd thought tghese were nice I couldn't take his food criticism seriously. I'm much better off frying an onion with some garlic adding a tin of chopped tomatoes and a bit of chilli for heat.
No heat to be added here though.

I've got to agree... takes no time at all to knock up a basic tomato sauce... much better then anything you can get in a jar!

Tomato and chilli is good.

Because the specific gravity of the oil is less than the rest of the contents so it floats to the top after manufacture. Great stuff. Stir it in and the oil will disappear. QED!
I assume that you fry the mince first to get rid of the fat in the mince and then drain that off.
A spoon or so of olive oil in the jar will NOT make the meat greasy. Must be your cooking LOL!
