Oh i forgot to mention they also had a mad price for a samsung carger for a specific mp3 player -it was £99 - no joke i was gonna post that ere on its own for a giggle. i wish i took the sku code on that

Good work! I know this sounds silly, but DSGi is huge 30,000 plus just in the UK, i would hate to see another woollies on our hands... well except the bargains

i have heard they have 2 offshore accounts with a huge battle chest for rainy days so i think they will stick around - mind you their pricing is all over the place

Rep for the work, hope you can answer some questions too...

I've read some DSG sticker/shelf prices are higher than till prices...is that right?

Are these prices store specific, i.e could I get the price lowered to match a different currys etc store price?

Cheers for the post anyway

Usually the stuff at 0.*7 prices have gone out of stock ages ago and is automatically being decreased in price despite not being in stock.

rep for the effort

there have been various dsgi deals here that often get voted hot and seem to be 1 offs or 2's or more -i have put these and said its worth looking for new deals in store it worked for me. So yes some deals are store specific and prices are different to marked prices , one has to check please feed back here what you find

Went to my local (hedge end) currys and dixons yesterday. No more items in the clearance than last week. Oh - and Onkyo amps? Not in my local ever!

None of the above seen at all unfortunately.

Oh - and if cameras were on offer they werent marked up and if you ask them to scan they say "the price is there sir..." hmmm...

That's been my experience at PC World. For instance, bought some RAM shelf-marked £19, but scanned at £7.

Neither have I! Strange... must be a local only thing again...

Ordered the GeoTech Triggers for the PS3 @ £1.99 - think this is the RRP but they are going for more on ebay.

When I put 2 in, it comes up as oos, but when I put 1 in it comes up as availabe and lets me collect from store. Will find out in an hour if the have some, won't be a happy bunny if not, as they have given me a reservation code. will have a rummage around in the bargain bins whilst I am there.......

I picked up an ipaq hx2490b in the Norwich PC World for 29.97, missing a charger which can be picked up for £3.99 online. nice...

I doubt it as Kef do not allow these to be sold 'online' - they are supossed to be demoed instore AFAIK

[have never seen these in my local Currys]

Kef speakers are available online at other stores. But Ive never seen Kef at any DSG.

Fourthed.

I just picked up the Kefs from PC World - the staples branch. They didn't have anymore left. Thanks for the heads up SLOAMAN, some heat and rep coming your way.

I like this one. currys.co.uk/mar…542

I think they got the prices the wrong way round.

All the stuff at £9.77 or below is BOGOF from today too.

are the r/c minis on different frequencies??, if so is it switchable or dependant on the box you pick up??

hoping to have 3 to race each other

The kefs are available in some stores and are the onkyos it tends to be the larger ones like Croydon\,Staples Corner and Manchester , Birmingham etc . They will have a home theatre section that specialises in these.

As for caps lock i have ripped the caps lock off my computer so im not tempted to use it.

imthedaddy1971;4090322

ok i'l give free lessons in reading cap writing ;-)

I'm not saying I can't read it, I'm saying it's harder to read.

It's just common sense to use capitals and lower case properly, just like using the correct grammar and punctuation.

As for the Kefs, they didn't have any in the Reading store, but I guess that it's not one of the larger stores.

Thanks for posting the deal Sloaman.

I wouldn't. Any company that advertises in the newspaper that if you buy a certain printer from it you will get a "special offer" on the USB lead, reduced from £40 to £30, deserves to go out of business for its criminal overcharging.

After some singularly poor customer service from Currys (who sold me an incomplete product and then accused me of pulling a fast one) forgive me if I don't share your fears about the credit crunch swallowing them up (or at least the stroppy manager at my local store).

Can confirm what some previous post said re DSGI hording money away. They can sustain 5 years of recession.

Also, clearance stuff ending in 7p usually ends up being rubbish that won't sell and if you do find one in store it is usually the last one, has been kicked around the warehouse, on display, with half the cables missing. Having worked for DSGI (unfortunately) I would avoid clearance stuff, in fact I would avoid all stuff!

If you are looking for new clearance goodies tho, the clearance price tickets go out on Sun AM so Sun is the day to see what's new.

Oh yes that reminds me - bought a sealed copy of a Linux distribution from PC World a few years ago, only to find that it contained a random selection of Microsoft CDs!

Nothing for me, but good effort OP, h+r

DSGI - Deplorable Service Gross Incompetance.
A retailer of last resort for me, they deserve the same fate as Woolies.
