Recently discovered beef jerky is really nice and somehow a 40g bag contains less salt, fat, or calories than most 30g bags of crisps! Apparently it's something the protein-heads love too....

Struggled to find much selection anywhere, let alone cheap. Very interested to hear other suggestions and would very much appreciate anyone commenting letting me know where it's cheaper.

As it stands, Asda have the widest selection I've come across and loads is on offer at the moment.

£1 - Jack Links Beef Jerky Original 25g (£4/100g - normally £1.50)
£1 - Jack Links Beef Jerky Sweet & Hot 25g (£4/100g - normally £1.50)

£1.50 - Wild West Beef Jerky Original (£3.75/100g - normally £1.89)
£1.50 - Wild West Beef Jerky Honey BBQ (£3.75/100g - normally £2.89)
£2.50 - Wild West Beef Jerky Original (£3.57/100g - normally £1.89)
£2.50 - Wild West Beef Jerky Honey BBQ (£3.57/100g - normally £2.89)

£3 - Jack Links Beef Jerky Original 75g (£4/100g)
£3 - Jack Links Beef Jerky Sweet & Hot 75g (£4/100g)

£1.50 - Cruga Beef Biltong Original (i think 40g - can't find it online)
£2.50 - Cruga Beef Biltong Chilli (£3.57/100g - normally £2.89)

£1.50 - Kings BBQ Beef Jerky 35g (£4.29/100g)
£1.25 - Wild West Deli Beef Jerky Thai Spice 25g (£5/100g)
£1.25 - Wild West Deli Beef Jerky Chilli Lime 25g (£5/100g)

Tesco have an own brand product which is competitively priced:

£1.50 Tesco Beef Jerky 40g £3.75/100g
£1.50 Tesco Beef Jerky Chipotle BBQ 40g £3.75/100g
£1.50 Tesco Pulled Pork Jerky 40g £3.75/100g
90p Tesco Beef Jerky 25g £3.60/100g - only showing online, couldn't find in store, maybe discontinued or a glitch as shows previous price as £6.50

If you want to spend £10.99 Costco do a massive bag of thick cut steak strips which I'm told are similar and very good. £3.67/100g.

Awesome, I walk past one on the way to uni
If you like the shop bought jerky buy a cheap dehydrator and make your own - it is a world apart and unlimited in the flavours you can create. Won't look back!
The cheapest on the market atm is Lidl's, where you can currently get 2x35g packs of Kings BBQ for £2, which works out at £2.86/100g. Aldi are second-cheapest with a 25g bag of the same costing 89p (£3.56/100g), and Lidl's normal price for jerky puts them in 3rd place, at £3.69/100g.

I had a total score recently when they gave me two Lidl Surprises booklets instead of just one. It contained a voucher for £5 off a £30 spend, which was spent (naturally) on jerky. I currently have a little under 60 packs, or a total of 2.1KG of jerky, for which I paid just £50. £2.38/100g. Boo yeah.

Who wants to touch me?
I find this one way too sweet. Been thinking about this other beef jerky that I found at Christmas market, it was like eating a really nice steak but concentrated. Anyone knows of a brand that tastes less sweet & more beefy?

Biltong is beautiful but you have to get it from authentic south african store where they weigh it out for you

I find that biltong is more meaty and less sweet than jerky.. Costco do a big bag of steak jerky which is really meaty but still a bit sweet
