But is it so good you have to shout about it? :giggle:

Heat n Rep for this

Great, was after some.
Now to try and calculate how much to buy!

I need some too, is this the best stuff to get or is there something better, maybe from travis perkins?

EDIT: Where I say best I mean best value, not necessarily the best stuff, I'm not that rich!!!!

Also interested in this but have same reservations as Benjimoron, any professionals around to help?

If you have no desire to itch like someone who has permanent chicken pox, then yes, this is the stuff to get.
The foil/plastic that it is wrapped in acts as extra insulation but also stops almost all of the glass wool particles escaping and getting on you skin. It is a skoosh to use and takes no time to roll out.
Just remember, 250mm is the minimum depth you should have in your loft, 400mm would be better, so two layers.

My wife picked some of this up in Wickes the other day at @£14 a roll but on BOGOF so a similar price. May be useful if you're nearer to a Wickes than a B&Q.

And this stuff is an absolute doddle to use.

Thanks for that, just to clarify mine is to go on the loft roof as I'm converting the loft. I assume this stuff is ok for that? Also it'll have plasterboard over top of it so I guess the particles bit doesn't matter but the foil sounds good for insulation anyway.

Is it any good for sound insulation?

You will have to check building regulations about that. There may be some requirements for air circulation in the loft. Installing insulation may stop the air flow.

We recently moved and were amazed to find that the previous owners had no insulation at all in the loft.. So this deal could come in very handy.

What thickness is the wickes stuff?

Can anyone tell me how long is a roll? Just trying to figure out how much I will need.
