Very handy little oven, I have had one of these now for over 12 months and use it to cook most of our family meals, it is a good capacity at 18 litres so can easily fit in a 12 inch pizza, since owing this oven my main kitchen oven has been made redundant, there is nothing I can not cook in this oven, I even cook a large chicken in there, also saves on electric as this oven only uses 1300w or just 650w if you only use the toasting function, great for cooking oven chips etc as this oven cooks from the bottom and top so you don't need to keep turning your food. I have just purchased a second unit to keep in storage incase they discontinue or the price goes up.

ordered - thanks :-)

Do you buy 2 of everything you like in case it's discontinued or heavens forbid, superceded and improved?

Looks ideal for singletons in their bedsits too.

Great deal heat added

Thanks for sharing OP, voted hot.

Fantastic deal and "Supersue" you are so right there is no need for "Black Knight's" sarcasm.

Thanks Op. Bought just for cooking pizzas as I never trust our tiny oven to cook them consistently due to their size

I am curious

Nice one. I just put my phone down searching for one of these online, I thought a cheap one was £70! Then I got the tweet. Thanks a lot!

"also saves on electric as this oven only uses 1300w"

Not necessarily. The element in an oven is only on while the thermostat calls for it. The cost of running it will depend to a small extent on how big it is (because you pay to heat it up), but to a larger extent how well-insulated it is (because once it's hot, most of what you pay for is the heat lost through the door and walls).

18L is to small, but good for the price

It's about the same size as your average microwave, it is a lot larger than most mini ovens that are normally less than 10 litres, this one from argos is only 9 litres and costs 29.99 plus p&p argos.co.uk/sta…htm

How big would you like a mini oven to be?

Argos equivalent is £31.99 without delivery argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Can anyone tell me what the grill is like on these please? Spent a fortune on a combi micro grill oven and the grill is useless. Takes ages so no good for a quick cheese on toast etc.

Ideal for cheese on toast, the top element gets very hot and glows red after 60 seconds, before I went on my i diet used it for cheese on toast regularly.

Thanks op. I'm still dithering because my kitchen is crammed full. My big oven is just one big waste of space. (_;)

Bought a Sharp 40L that ovens and microwaves and grills, defrost etc. But at a hefty price though, but cannot fault it. Running perfect for the last few years. Also cooks frozen pizzas perfectly by mixing microwave power with oven power! Worth looking into imo

Thanks!! That's a great find in my opinion. I just picked one up and promptly did the frozen pizza test which honestly turned out better than in any other oven I've used before! If you need one get one!!

No harm meant, apologies OP and all.

We have one of these at work. Works well for pizza and reheating ready meals. It has been this price for months though.

How do these handle baking cakes. The wife has gotten into baking - thanks British Bake off;)

Anyways, it means she's having to use the oven all the time, I was thinking I could get one of
these and then she'll be ok to bake and I can still cook savour food in the oven.

Would you be able to cook lasagne in it?

Received mine yesterday - looking forward to trying it out tonight as have had no oven since moving house months ago!

I know this will sound silly but ... manual says you can't use plastic. What about ready meals that come in a plastic container, can these be heated up? Anyone who has one and does would be glad to hear from you! Thanks

No, you can't use plastic containers in a standard oven - they are microwave only. This is because the temperature inside a microwave doesn't go above boiling point unless you grossly overcook things.

if it says on packaging in can be oven cooked in the plastic tray it should be fine, I would cook it on the metal tray provided with this oven, if you put it just on the rack the heat may then mange to melt the plastic, this would apply to any oven not just this one, why them oven plastic trays can stand a lot of heat they can still melt if allowed to cook to close the the elements. I know some oven cook lasagne come in the plastic trays and I have cooked them fine in this oven.
