It's crazy to think a 50 inch a few years ago you couldn't get for sub 500 and now you can readily get 55inch plus for under 350! Heat.

Even if they do go sub £300, it will probably be only as low as £299. If you need a new TV just get one bought and enjoy it, no point wasting life away to save £20.

Surprised no one has said 'wait until Black Friday'
Tiptop find, wondering if Curry's in store will price match this as its new and in stock for delivery from their own warehouse. Save having it lugged all over the place and getting damaged if you can pick one up!

Fab price, this is powered by the same 55" panel that is in the finlux, techwood, some toshiba's and a few others from the vestel 2016 made, sold in 2017 Q1 onwards range

Cheapest 55" 4K monitor with tv options in the UK maybe!

What's the refresh rate of the panel?
Logic LoL, Nice TV
Slower Than Average Motion Interpolation FrequencyThe motion interpolation frequency of the L55UE17 of only 50Hz is very slow compared to most other TVs. It is in the slowest 1% of all televisions when sorted by this feature. The slowest motion interpolation frequency of televisions is 50Hz, the fastest is 2,700Hz, and the average motion interpolation frequency is 400Hz.

Dunno what that means or if it's wrong but last time I bought a too good to be true TV, sports were unwatchable.

Yeah, just read the specifications and 50hz is the lowest motion rate I have ever seen advertised on a tv. The picture is going to perform extremely badly with fast moving scenes with chronic ghosting and judder.

For the uninitiated: the following videos show ghosting, it's basically the blurry motion trails when the TV can't keep up with the action.

No HDR though unfortunately. In my experience makes more difference than the resolution unless you are sat 2 feet from it! Although I guess of you have a 32" HD tv then the extra size would be a bonus

Erm, Motion Rate is the same as Refresh Rate, this is about the average for a 4k television. Most monitors don't get above 144hz. Are you talking about processing rate?
So football on this tv will be a poor picture ?

My tv (Panasonic Tx-58ex750b) is 2400 HZ motion processing and a 100HZ panel.

So in short sub £500 TVs will likely have 50hz panels and will also have low processing rate - so ghosting will be a problem. In short: you get what you pay for.
I would recommend a Panasonic like the tx50ex700b that while is also a 50HZ panel - - it has 1600 HZ processing rate so it will handle fast moving action like football better. It's £499 though not £319.

I've also noticed they've skimped on the HDMI connections, with most TVs having 4 HDMI nowadays at 3.0. TV's had a mere 2 HDMI ports at 2.0 back in 2012. It's a bit sparse nowadays. 1 Sky box and a Blu-Ray player and you're all outta luck with no more ports spare.

Hmm, most TV channels output at 30fps (apart from sports), so ghosting won't be a problem on this tv. 60fps on 50Hz TV's have ghosting, that's understood, but would it be that visible? If sports isn't being watched then I believe the TV will do just fine, hopefully we will get an input from those who have bought the TV. Once again, this refresh rate isn't great but, if you're watching movies/tv channels I believe it would be just fine :P

Still a decent deal!
Wow that is good, assuming of course that the TV is any good.
wait until Black Friday
Only 2 HDMI ports tho. Thats a shame
Looks decent, but the stand is a put off for me.

I'd have to buy a new cabinet for it to stand on.

Also only 2 HDMI ports makes it a no go.

My 42" LG from 8 years ago has 3... this is poor!
Back up to £399 now, so all gone

There is a *similar* deal for a tosh 55" here from costco, £30 more, but may suit those that like a known brand to be seen on their kit!
