Have the 3D version of this great tv, no complaints!!

I was in crown point leeds and they had this deal showing. unfortunately they have none in stock anywhere in leeds. the guy said they have 2 in wakefield and one in birstall so stock seems limited around west Yorkshire.

goodomen

It has free home delivery though, so lack of store stock shouldn't be an issue

no home delivery option anymore and very limited store stock :-(

shame, I'd have bought in a snip

These are decent tbh, I was surprised at the quality (bought one for my kids bedroom)

HEat.

Stock in Runcorn, if it helps.

I would suggest that for close up viewing at might be little light on the pixels.

I don't buy into all this retina display hype, ie people getting all pompous because they reckon that 1280x800 resolution is 'rubbish' on a 10 inch tablet etc but despite my stance on that, I do think that using this as a close up PC monitor will be come frustrating unless you're viewing from a distance.

There are 27inch higher resolution monitors for a few quid more that might suit you better if it's for a few inches in front of your eyes, ie HERE

Just my opinion.

Cheers for the heads up Baz. I was looking for the fun tonality and peace of mind of having the option to use as a TV as well but outlooks like there isn't anything in the sub £200 price range that functions as ok for both. It's either one or the other. Am I right in thinking this?

Horses for courses. Twenty different people will give you 20 different answers I'm afraid. Consider what's its going to used for most, then to comprmise the secondary use might be a way forward provided that the secondary comprimise isn't such that it renders the second use impractical.

If you are using 32inch for PC monitor, I expect that you are really going to want to use the 'real estate' so you'll need more pixels otherwise it will look pretty grainy. I remember linking a laptop up to my 37 inch samsung TV that was HD ready ( 1366x768 pixels) and being disappointed even with my non-critical vision, so I suspect a 32inch will be similar. The tv picture was, and still is exceptionally good though despite the lower resolution. And as a point of note, some even lower resolution plasmas look even better again so 'more' pixels isn't the governing factor for TV viewing in my opinion.

However I believe that you will regret not having a higher resolution computer monitor though, so you might want to consider a decent 27inch monitor ( BenQ do some good ones sub £200 ) and get a TV stick for it or freeview box and use one of the HDMI inputs. Anyone (well in fairness, other than graphic designer & professionals) that says 1920 x 1080 is not good enough for a 27 computer monitor being used for standard home use has, in my opinion been sucked into the retina hype.

If you wait about you will get a bargain monitor/tv and it will be posted here. It's the old 'HD ready' tvs that are the bargains right now. You may be right about the sub £200 expectations, but for sure if we're going to be proved wrong, it will be here on this website thanks to the loyal HUKD-ers.

Good luck.
