aren't these incredibly inefficient in terms of cost to run?
    Tyranicus66's avatar
    Tyranicus66
Quite the opposite - they are 99.99% efficient and the oil means they radiate heat very effectively. Great if you have a big house and only want to heat the room you are working in

Reckon the oil inside the radiator is worth more than the radiator itself?

    Better than a fan heater?

Fan heaters will get the room warmer faster but an oil heater is more efficient to run over a longer period. Plus fan heaters are noisy and this is silent.

Most important metric would be useful for adding to OP: 1500w and 3 settings.

Thanks. I’ll be getting one to heat bedroom overnight when EV tariff is active:
7.5p electricity at 100% efficiency VS
10p gas at 90% boiler efficiency and unnecessarily heating whole house.

    Same plan here.

Got an electric blanket for our bed. This radiator will be going in the daughter's room solely for use during the night when the heating is off to the rest of the house. At 7.5p per kWh it's almost certainly cheaper than using the central heating (at the Price Guarantee rate). (edited)

    I ordered Tues Sep 20th at 10:50
I was told it would be available to collect Wed 21st after 5pm.

Received e-mail today Wed 21st at 1pm saying ready to collect.

Collected from store and found out had been reduced to £14 from £14.99

Went to customer service desk and got the price difference refunded.

Thanks for posting, got for myself and parents. A great idea to let any elderly relatives or neighbours know about this- the energy price rise is difficult enough for us, the toll on those only receiving a basic state pension is unimaginable, even with the winter fuel payment.

At least bankers bonuses will no longer be capped…. They would seriously struggle this winter otherwise (!)

Any recommendations on an oil filled radiator?

Never had one of these (always had a electric heater, as a boost for kids room after a bath / shower)

Absolute steal at this price. I have 2 already and have been looking for another for cheap and hey presto . Set them at the right temperature and they will take the chill out if it falls below you required temperature.

General question about Curry's. If this was argos, and they where showing immediate collection wasn't available at any store near me, and I'd have to wait a couple of days before being able to collect, it would be likely they would be getting rid of the last few they have left (often returned potentially faulty ones). Does Curry's also do this?
