Lol. We added it at the same time. You were 2 mins quicker heat from me of course as it's worth it.

Yep, webcams don't come out very often anymore.

I have been using that for almost two years now, brilliant device so far, worth every penny. The autofocus works well, video quality is on point and low light performance is impressive for a webcam that "old". The only issue is that sometimes the Logitech Webcam Software doesn't retain the white balance settings that I have manually set.

I recommend this product!

In December 2015 I paid £30.99 at Amazon because it was so cheap, no doubt because I saw it on HUKD. Great webcam that I have never used.

Jan 2012 but this is the going price used on eBay so still a demand

Delurking to offer a heads-up: The Windows 10 Anniversary Update borked a lot of webcams recently, including this one. A fix is apparently inbound at some point in September but confidence is not high. It's a great cam (I have one) but currently does not work on W10.

Balls, I paid £31.99 in June 2015! And mine hasn't been used either.

Do people still use webcams?!

It's a great webcam. I use this on Windows 10 64 with no problems.

Want to sell it to me? Haha

anyone using it with a Raspberry Pi?

This is hands-down the best webcam out there. Yes it's been released a couple of years now. But nothing has beaten it yet, at least in my opinion. For the record, I have written and am still writing lots of programs for this camera.

That's going to depend on what software the pi is running

Yes its old but still one of the top webcams.
If anyone has it and not using just sell it. Prices on eBay are about 30 quid for used ones.

Great Webcam. Well worth the money. I bought it at £45

That's interesting, I have 3 laptops running Windows 10 Pro, and I have no issue using my C920 or my C525 on any of them. I will have a look at this Logitech nonetheless.

Heads Up:
Depends which version of Windows 10, this is the webcam having all the problems with freezing on Skype, using Windows 10 Anniversary Update, i.e Windows 10, version 1607. Due to the new way Windows 10 AU deals with encoded Video.

Lots of unresolved freezing issues with logitech drivers with latest version of Win10 AU, avoid both at the moment.

A lot of people actually, can sit on laptop or desktop and chat to family and friends with a high quality image and not wear down data on phone in fact more people I know use webcams than phone cameras as after the initial cost and wifi its free and much better.

I use 4 YUYV webcams on a Raspberry pi, displaying on a vga monitor via "Gert's vga666" adapter.

Worth mentioning that the webcam can be found in Amazon Warehouse for £34.41 (very good) and £36.29 (like new). Students can get it for under £30 as part of the current Amazon Student 20% off

Should have said in my OP but I'm using Win 64 pro with AU.

Paid £34 for it used for it for £28 as a student!

But a phone can connect to wifi as much as a laptop/desktop can. Most laptops have cameras too, hence my question.

In my case a webcam on top of the TV is a must. Kids, living room, running non stop. With a Phone/tablet I have to follow them around ...

Phones these days connect to wifi.

Indeed, very good webcam. Got it in June 2015 at £31.99. Works well on Linux too. Currently connected to a Lenovo Stick PC (Windoze 10) plugged in to the TV for "larger than life" size Skype!!

I have a C920-C (business version but essentially the same apart from the aesthetics and privacy slider).

Had problems for a few days with video freezing after a few minutes of being connected on Skype, but I assume Microsoft did an update to fix it (and I posted on the Logitech forums myself in a few threads).

Not sure how it's not working for you as I'm running Windows 10 64-bit 1607 (Anniversary Update) and I'm on Skype nearly every day.

I expected someone to say something like that, but phones on camera arent quite the same and wear down battery crazy fast, these are useful for long calls with family and you can just mount it to monitor and such.

And very good for conference calls because of large monitor screen sizes compared to phones.

And most laptops I have tried have awful webcams in some ways more awkward to use than a phone as its locked in position so you can just tilt it, useless if you want to show things like your room easily, a external webcam has the best of both a camera phone and laptop and once connected to a network thats it, no worries about battery life you have high quality image, a wide camera, can easily move it about and better framerates too.

Even know people who attach webcams to laptops so they can show work for presentations and such.

Where did I say they didn't? For reasons look at reply above.

Literally bought this at 11pm last night for £44.99. Tried to cancel it when I seen this deal this morning, but was too far along in the process to cancel, so thought I'd get the difference refunded via chat, but was told Amazon no longer price match. Aaaaand, because I have it ordered, I can't order at the cheaper price and return the dearer one, as it is 1 per customer.

There is literally no advantage in moving to Win10.
Stay on Win7 for as long as you can. Win8.1 maybe. But don't do Win10 and pass on the message, maybe Microsoft will hear it

So return by CCR (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), make a new account for your work address and have it sent there!
But that said, the 1 per customer would not be applicable at the high price you paid, so just order the cheap and return the expensive?
