Instead it comes with the worlds largest usb cable yes cable that the goes to a pairing hub which is the size of the mouse! Will be great if you have a base station out of the way but if you are using it with a laptop like me then looks really nasty. An old product they are trying to sell off as new wireless!

It's got a HUGE wireless adapter. Only really suitable for a desktop. The cheap Microsoft on amazon (£7.99) has the same huge adapter.

Still a good deal for a decent wireless optical mouse. No problem if using it with a desktop. It's only a fiver.

Does it need batteries?

Dont they all?

Dont they all?

Yeah - not sure if it's AA/AAA battery or rechargeable. I reckon the former.

Does it need batteries?
Hmmmm, I don't think anyone has yet invented a system for transmitting power over wireless, that would be like the invention of the hyper drive for buses.

From Wikipedia:

"A Tesla coil is a type of resonant transformer circuit invented by Nikola Tesla around 1891.[1] It is used to produce high voltage, relatively high current, and high frequency alternating current electricity. Tesla experimented with a number of different configurations and they consist of two, or sometimes three, coupled resonant electric circuits. Tesla used these coils to conduct innovative experiments in electrical lighting, phosphorescence, x-ray generation, high frequency alternating current phenomena, electrotherapy, and the transmission of electrical energy without wires."

Tesla experimented yes, guess he failed miserably.
All we have is the ability to plonk your leccy toothbrush on its charging stand which transmits negligible power over a negligible distance by the use of inductance, hardly world-shattering like a bus hyper drive.
