WoW! this is a great deal. Anyone know how long the cable is as I dont want to sit 4 foot from my screen. I trust it is fully analogue.

just ordered one, i'll get back to you

I wouldn't buy it - it's bigger brother, the Driving Force Pro, is better in every single way and only a little bit more (about £50-£60 for a new one)

Isn't this the voucher that can only be used by new customers once

Where are they £50? Cheapest I can find is £64.75 which is a big increase on £35 when there is not much difference in the EX / Pro. Why would anyone want 900 degrees on a wheel?

as above im awaiting the newer Gt5 wheel thats due out this month, still a good buy though, voted hot

I have used the voucher a few times. Just need to register with a different email address which takes less than a minute.

Can anyone point out the differences between this 'Ex', the 'Pro' and the new Gt5 wheel that is coming soon? I can see that the pro has 900 degree turn - which I hear is quite important in driving games like GT. I also know that the Gt5 wheel has a horn and the ability to tweak car settings in race from a physical control. Anything else? Has the quality of the components been upgraded, etc...?

To me, it sounds like the Ex is a brilliant deal.

EX & Pro are virtually identical I believe apart from EX has 200 degrees rotation and the Pro has 900. Price difference of about £40. No idea why someone would want 900 degrees.

GT5 - all I know it that ts going to be expensive (around £120).

This EX is a great price for £33 after quidco! Force feedback, PS3 and Gran turismo compatible seals it for me.

where is the gear stick on th EX? If it doesn't have one then thats a major difference to the PRO

Features:

Force Feedback Technology: Feel every inch of the road for maximum control and the ultimate racing experience.

Gas and Brake Pedals: Get instant response with true-to-life pedals.

Wheel-Mounted Shifters: Shift through the gears with F-1 style paddle shifters.

Gas-assist injection molding: Keep your hands comfortable with this seamless 10-inch wheel.

High Grade Non-Slip Soft Rubber Grips: Receive unparalleled comfort during intense racing.

Four Playstation Action Buttons: Quickly access all your control functions.

I have both wheels, and the Driving force pro is superior in every respect to the EX, the force feedback is far more realisitic and the whole feel fo the wheel and its response is more like a simulation that the EX, the EX is good but not a substitute!

Fair enough but this is ideal for casual drivers like me and just about the limit of what I would pay for a wheel. Still gets a very hot vote from me

Thanks to OP.

The "new" GT5 wheel is the DFP with 2 extra knobs. AKA a total rip-off

Price difference of about £40. No idea why someone would want 900 degrees.

F1 cars have ~270 degrees of travel.

GT Racers - ~360 degrees

Sports Cars - 540 (I think)

Standard Road Cars - 1080 degrees (sometimes 900)

That's why. 200 is TINY. Once you use 540 or 900 you will think 200 is rubbish

The DFP is legendary as it is built better and has great force feedback.

Thanks to Jakg, csiman and, especially daj060454 for your input. Most useful.

The back-story is: After playing GT5 Prologue, I fell in love with the it (the realistic looking temptress that it is) and had to buy a wheel to get the realistic feel from the realistic look. I can't find any Pros in the UK for a decent price, so I ended up buying it from the states for £60 all in. Yesterday. When this EX came up on HUKD today, I thought someone was taking the pss waiting for me to make a decision, and then coming up with something half the price and available now. But after the comments made comparing the EX to the Pro, I think I'm happier with my costing-twice-as-much purchase now. I want REALISM!

You want realism? Then why don't you get a G25?

Or, start playing a more realistic game, but that's a different argument all together...
