Very good price and a very good wheel.

good compatability with PC?

I'd be switching between pc & ps3 so i'd need a wheel that was good on both.

Damn about £40 cheaper than usual, I think they may be releasing a new version with Gran Turismo 5 when it releases. So maybe they are getting rid of stock

very cheap but i think youll need the pedals too

Yes, i have one and it's brilliant for R Factor, Race 07 etc....

It comes with pedals lol, just no Clutch Support like the G25.

The Logitech G27 will be launching soon so i expect the G25 to fall in price aswell soon, Great wheels neitherless

Good deal, although owning a G25 I would rather spend the extra and buy that, its currently 119.99 on play. Although that is double what this costs I feel its worth the extra.

it's been this price for about six months.

Would this be suitable for games like wipeout and burnout for the ps3 or is it only suitable for racing sims?

Your good with burnout, though I have a g25 I prefer it on pad. Wipeout I don't think it would be any good.

One thing ive never figured out with steering wheels like this is.....Where on earth do you put it when your playing it??...on your lap?? - if so it doesnt look very lap friendly, ie your lap is curved but the base of wheel is flat!!!!.....or do you put it on a table so its flat and secure? - but who plays the PS3 while sat at a table? - please can someone explain how they use it, cos im mystified!!

This is the only thing stopping me, the wheel clips onto a table or one of those racing seat rigs. Since I don't have a suitable table in my lounge I'd have to get a rig and they are pretty expensive, put it all together for the benefit of one or two games, add in that i'm expecting my 2nd child and the result is divorce. Guess I'll have to wait till the kids want one too. Maybe in time for Gran Turismo 7 on the PS4!

hi, i think this is £38.99 on spot buyer.co.uk , i've never bought anything from the site and don't know if it's any good

I have a Logitech MOMO which works great on the PS3 and PC, personally I think it's worth the extra over this but this is still a good deal.

Just checked it out, never heard of the website before.

That is a good price, but it is the oler model...

If I got this for my kid/me, would I find it easier than a standard controller? Would I race better?
I don't want to get this and find its harder to control. It would be used for GT5 & Motorstorm.

I may ask Amazon to post this along with my £17.56 copy of GT5 ! heres hoping anyway !!

They take a while to get used to but once you are used to it you lap times WILL come down.

I got a wheel years ago for the PS2 when it first came out, tried it sat on the settee with the wheel on my lap and the pedals kept shifting around and then eventually tried it at my desk. That wasn't successful either so in the end I bought a Playseat (www.playseat.com) and for me, it's brilliant. So much more realistic and as mentioned earlier, lap times etc do come down together with sooo much more precision!! :-D
Have a look at AVForums as there's lots of advice on there about how to use wheels etc and how to secure them and to what. Simply do a search for "GT5" and you should start to find what you need. I know somebody did mention about an IKEA fold up table that he used!

Good luck

Anyone?

Sureley ONE of the many people that appraently use these things can tell me how its used?

WHERE DO YOU PUT IT WHEN YOU ARE RACING WITH IT?

Simple question really.

What a monstrosity !!!

99% of people just dont have the space or even the inclination to have such a huge thing in their lounge or bedroom!!!

So basically these driving wheels are pretty much a waste of time unless you are willing to fork out £300 for a racing seat!! CRAZY...absolutely CRAZY!!

ever heard of a chair and a table lol

mine takes about a minute to set up.

Thats ok if you have a house where you can store a table purchased just to play a racing game!! - most tables would not be the wrong height.....although granted, its a cheaper alternative than having to buy a £300+ racing chair which you've gotta be honest is a complete rip off, not practical and a joke!!

the 'table' cost £2.99 and the legs come off in 5 secs :whistling:

I think you're just looking for an excuse to put wheels down. You obviously havent played a racing game using one as you'd appreciate the difference they make.

I think you'll find i 'have' used one before......and thats why i didnt actually rate them that much. I mean YEAH, it certainly 'feels' more like proper driving when you are using one granted...but i found my lap times were actually worse!! - wether this was down to me finding it fiddly with the pedals being on the floor (and moving) and the wheel being on my lap (and not comfortable) i just dont know....but i deffinately produced better times using the keypad (and with much much less effort) - anyone that says you'll get better lap times is talking utter rubbish. If you cant get good lap times just twiggling your d-pad or analog stick left and right then i dont see how logic could mean you'd be any better with a wheel....theres more to go wrong with a wheel.

Each to their own though i guess....some people just need to justify to themselves the necessity in spending such high amounts on seats/wheels etc etc and the hassle of getting tables out and rearranging the furniture.......but i just dont think its honest for people to say your lap times will come down using a wheel....thats just not true. SOME people may be quicker using it....but then some may be quicker NOT using it, so id say ONLY get one of these if you want the feeling of racing to be truer....NOT if you are desperate for faster driving times.

of course you got worse times if you hadnt fixed the pedals on the floor and had the wheel on your lap.

Thats not how you're meant to do it lol

spenspuma, you seem really angry about these wheels? Not sure what your problem is but trust me the experience becomes greatly enhanced while the lap times go down, of course you didn't get better lap times with the pedals sliding all over the place! You also seem amazed that people have spare/loft rooms to set there projector/seat/wheel up in, before you have experienced all three, you can't really coment on whether you times will come down or not.

forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho…898 This is the perfect set up and achivable for under a £1000 (might seem like a lot but then if you look at the cost of tracking a car -yes it is almost that realistic- that would only cover about 2 days!)

you can get wheels that are made for use on your lap....but i'm not sure how good those wheels are.

thre more expensive the wheels are surely the more the person is into racing & willing to spend to get the perfect set-up.

and just because YOUR times didn't improve, doesn't mean other peoples times won't improve.

finally ordered it been waiting for some cash to come through i was owed from selling one of my r/c cars

should be here friday/saturday

You wont regret it!

Try out LFS (Live for Speed) on LFS.com

yeah thats what i bought it for

bloody brilliant so far, used it on GT:Prologue all yesterday bloody love it, my dad was on it too lol definately worth the money.

what settings do you use for LFS? i've got it all installed but i've not used it on LFS yet, just GTR2 so far on the pc.

It was a pain in the bum to set up the first time. Lots of info on LFS forum though.

I had to unclick a box in the Logitech profiler that made the brake and accelerate work on same axis (ie it was braking when i let go of accelerator) Once I had done that it was pretty simple to set up.

You will have your own force feedback setting you prefer, i have the g25 so also have clutch and think its worth the extra 100 I paid at the time although now is about 60 extra
