Good price for this wheel

Its a sturdy wheel and well made, maybe old but its still a major player and at this price awesome Value for money , Simply you can not get anything close to the quality of this wheel at this price range .

Just for those wanted to know..

It works fine with
F1 2014 , Assetto Corsa, Grid Auto sport, Project cars, Raceroom etc ..

I give this pedal 9.5/10

Good price, but shame I missed it when it was £118 during the Amazon deals

If it's true that it's patents, which are likely to expire at some point, are what's stopping this becoming compatible with the new consoles then this might be worth picking up while it's cheap. None of the new wheels seem to be offering much at this price point.

you can get an adapter thing to let you play it on Xbox one (not sure about ps4) called Max Race F1

Logitech said they are working on getting it to work on PS4 but not seeing much progress. currently it appears to be stuff Sony changed and the wheel apparently not having a chip that is required for fast polling devices. appears to be stuff Sony has done to fight piracy.

Awesome wheel anyway. Had one for years. Solid kit not flimsy plastics like some wheels.

Bought one recently (Amazon Black Friday, £135 or so) and fixed it to Race Stand Pro. Works really well - both wheel and pedals feel accurate and responsive.

Bit the bullet and went for it after months of pondering. Now just to wait for then to open at 8am tomorrow!! Thanks OP

Still using my G25.

Will wait until its compatible with ps4

Never used one personally however my mate still swears by the G25 (even having owned the '27), not entirely sure why though...

The Thrustmaster T500RS looks a dream of a wheel to own, but the price is stupendous in comparison to the Logitech G's, and probably still isn't compatible with the new-gen systems either.

The thing holding me back from this is that it's actually worth more than my car.

You'll also need the perfect height on a desk to get the most out of it.
My desk is a little high and coupled with the fact the gas on my chair is broken I just don't think it would work out well for me without buying a additional stand for the wheel and pedals (another £80)..

I really want it but for £150 I could get some new shoes or something that makes more sense considering I don't play many games anymore.

I had this wheel and it is terrible, get the Thrustmaster T300 instead, you wont regret it. Yes the pedals suck, but so do the ones of the Logitech, just get the T3PA pedals for the T300, you can control brake progression on them.

You are far to sensible to be in this site, Get Out Now..... Lol
Unfortunately I completely agree with your sentiment and rational thought process. Which has probably just saved me £150 thanks.

Is it worth upgrading from a G25?

They're not even in the same price range, the G27 is as good as it gets at this price unless you're willing to spend closer to £400.

My cronus max just arrived - if its any good, it will make this wheel so much better.

That is a pretty stupid thing to say..... The g27 albeit old, is renound for great build quality and reliability.

I've had this wheel, the g27 at this price is amazing if you do PS3/pc gaming. I have the t300rs for my ps4/PS3 now which is a step ahead in terms of force feedback...but

You are comparing £150 item with essentially £500 for t300rs with t3pa pedals and th8a gearstick. Yes it won't be as good, but will give the average gamer more than enough pleasure at this price point.

awesome, will be buying for pc

Not much improvement over G25 and one major step back - it's is missing sequential/H switch for the gearbox so yo you're missing handbrake function on this one without fiddling.

For my G27 I made a cardboard bracket to stop gear stick from going onto 3rd and wrapped couple of rubber bands around it so now I can use 4th gear as handbrake and it returns back to neutral, but I wouldn't call it elegant solution.

I've owned a G25/G27 for well over 5 years and not once did I think the pedals sucked. They are extremely solid and well made.

If you mean the wheel stand pro them yes, it's the ultimate combo. It's a great feeling being able to race from the comfort of my sofa.

I got this on the last deal for £149 but the bloody clamp would not open wide enough to fit on my desk (about two inches thick) gutted. On thus side currys were brilliant and sending a courier to collect and refund the money in less than 5 days.

No

I've got the G25 and still peeved that's it IS compatible with ps4, but the game developers just chose not to code with it in mind, maybe because they get juicy commission from thrustmaster!!

So true. When I was looking at a cheaper model, I saw lots of people selling modded stands. The cost and space considerations are bad enough and then I realised if I called people over for a games session, they'd all either fight over the wheel or moan about the disadvantage.
However I will still buy one when I'm a millionaire recluse.

As I've said, I don't think this is aimed at consoles this is more for PC's, iracing, lfs, etc etc

I agree it's good enough if you like using FFB wheels, but I didn't like any of them!
I liked the pedals that the G25/G27 used though, and it's great value at this price. Thrustmaster wheels cost about £400 with decent, comparable pedals and a shifter. Also sometime in the next year they will run out of new stock, as Logitech have stopped making all console peripherals.
Heat from me.

Picked mine up from currys at ponte today!

Out of interest how does this compare to the Logitech GT wheel I've got

great relationship tester, voted hot.

I Own all three wheels, this one will blow the logitech GT wheel out of the water. Much better pedals not that plastic junk and braking is so much better. You also have dedicated gear stick too. The GT wheel itself is half decent but the braking is awful either too strong or too weak.

Great deal for a half decent solid wheel... fetch more than this secondhand on fleebay.. Have some heat!

Everyone with a Logitech GT wheel thinking of upgrading maybe think doing a free break mod first.. google Logitech GT wheel break mod YouTube. I have tried and it has improved breaking a lot

I've been debating a wheel for years now. Had a cheapy ages ago on 360 and loved it. Is this a good wheel in your guys opinions for this price range? I play DiRT, grid, race 07, but predominantly spintires at the mo, on PC.

Be wary that the G range of Logitech wheels do not work on the PS4. Found out the hard way.

The lack of compatibility between platforms is infuriating. As soon as you want something that is compatible with both Xbox and Playstation (since all work with PC) the cost is easily up in the £300+ range even before you start looking at stands and seats. Then to block compatibility to the current gen consoles

More specific to this deal, make sure you check the pricing on the shelf - saw this wheel in two different places in the same PCworld marked up for £149 and £199.

Not that I'm trying to convince anyone, but this is a very good reason not to bother with console crap.

If anyone is that serious to spend all this money im not sure why people wouldn't spend on PC hardware anyway.

Get one of these and a Wheel Stand Pro and you're set. Assetto Corsa with this is soooo good!
